History The third-generation Mustang was produced by Ford from 1978 until 1993. Built on Ford's Fox platform (and thus commonly referred to as the "Fox" or "Foxbody" Mustang), it evolved through a number of sub-models, trim levels, and drivetrain combinations during its production life. The 1993 Mustangs, with their aerodynamic composite headlamps and front fascia styling. Production were some of the most popular of all the Mustang line. Ford used new cast hypereutectic pistons on the V8 and gave the big 5.0L a power rating of 225 horsepower @ 4200 RPM & 300 lb-ft @ 3200 RPM. These 1993 Fox Body Mustangs have a devoted following and a large inventory of performance parts still exist that keep the 1993 Mustangs competitive even today even today.
