Description of 1991 Ford E-Series Van |
1991 Ford E350 14' parcel van for sale, good condition overall and mechanically excellent. Approximately 195K miles on it. Located in Winston-Salem, NC. Doesn't have A/C, a deal-breaker for some I'm sure. Doesn't have a loading ramp or lift gate. Has the 7.3L IHC diesel (non-turbo) engine which is known for being bullet-proof and lasting a half-million miles or more if cared for properly. Allison 4-speed automatic w/overdrive, rebuilt at 100K according to previous owner. Purchased it in California for the move to North Carolina, and put $3500 into service and repairs before pulling out. The front end needed a complete rebuild, and all belts and hoses were replaced. Loaded with my stuff and pulling a car-trailer, it ran perfectly all the way across the country, pulled hills in 100 degree heat and averaged 10+mpg. Soon after arriving, I found out it needed brakes, so those are all new. Two new batteries. New glow plugs. Fully serviced. You could hop in it and drive to California tomorrow. Four brand-new tires. Interior isn't especially pretty, the vinyl upholstery is split on the driver's seat, and the door panels aren't so hot. Cargo area is fitted with tie-down rings and a two-bunk setup I built for the trip that folds flat if you want it out of the way. Nice setup for long distance. No leaks in the box, but a little seepage between cab and box in a heavy rain. West coast surface rust underneath. It's a serious, dependable work-horse with a ton of miles left in it. Drives real stable. More details: the turn signal stalk doesn't self-cancel. The wipers work on two speeds, but not on the intermittent setting. Heater, radio, lights and horn, all good. Spider crack on winshield high center, never bothered me. You can fly in and confidently drive this thing anywhere. I'd be happy to pick you up either in Charlotte or Greensboro and help get you on your way. I'm also available to drive it to you, and could pick up your cargo along the way (additional fee, of course!)
