30-year old full sized pickup trucks have become very popular lately for some very good reasons. They are stylish and modern enough to be comfortable, reliable, and capable. They are unique and affordable alternatives to new trucks that are full of computers and cost as much as some houses. This F-150 has been serviced and updated so that it is like a new, 1985, Special Retro Edition. The first special thing you notice is the Indigo Blue Metallic paint job with plenty of evidence that they went the extra mile to remove hardware and accessories before painting. Get up a little closer and you can see how dramatic the metallic really is. The solid good looks of this modern classic pickup are enhanced by a unique twist with the body colored bumpers too. Chrome fender well trim adds a splash of flash. The grill looks great with its chrome surround and the window brightwork really shines too. A sliding rear window is a nice feature, while white rocker panel stripes parallel the upper body line crease. For all those good looks, this is still a pickup truck though. So, you have the option of putting that 8-foot bed to good use. You may just choose to do it gently. Open the door and you will see that the effort and attention to detail on the outside was continued in the interior too. The new tan door panels look great and really compliment the blue paint. Vent windows can be opened for air flow and are something you don't see anymore. A nice tweed and vinyl bench seat is comfortable, looks great, and allows you to carry more than one passenger. Or, lets one passenger slide over close to the driver for the ride. A 3-spoke Grant GT steering wheel on a tilt column feels great in your hands and sits in front of a good-looking dash that is chock full of modern comfort and convenience features. Directly in front of the driver are all the gauges, and in the center of the dash you will find a Pioneer head unit that is an AM/FM, CD, Bluetooth, and iPod compatible radio. Just below that are the ventilation controls that include an R-134 air conditioning system and new carpets and headliner complete the picture. Pop the hood and you will find an engine compartment that is beyond just neat and clean. The firewall is even spotless and the body colored master cylinder is a pretty cool touch. There is a torquey and reliable 302 V8 nestled in there under a chrome air filter housing sending power back through a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The term "nut and bolt restoration" is an appropriate description of the work done on this truck. Everything is brand new, including all the bushings in the suspension and throughout the drivetrain. There are powder coated suspension parts, new spindles, a new gas tank, and new exhaust system. And all this effort was spent on a truck that has been a Tennessee resident all its life. The rubber meets the road through Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires that are slightly larger in the back, and mounted on nicely finished steel wheels. An over the top restoration of a modern classic truck. Come on down and get your like new, Special Retro Edition pickup today!
