Description of 1977 Ford Mustang Cobra II |
1977 Cobra II Factory 302 / C4 / A/C car – NO ENGINE The car is essentially 2 owner – I have the 1985 issue original Georgia title signed over from the original owner (buyer section not filled in yet). I believe the original owner had family that owned the dealership, because the title was issued 10-16-85, first lien signed off in 1988, and it is listed as new with 90659 miles on the title. It looks like it was driven for several years under MSO. Not a duplicate title. The car has not been driven or registered since 1988. It does need full restoration, but it is not a bad one to undertake. I was planning on building this with someone who has now passed away, so I really don’t have any motivation to build it now. This is an original black/ gold stripe car, and sometime in the early 80s, the car was taken down to primer and repainted with metalflake laquer, with custom graphics. That all needs to come off, it is flaking, not to mention the metalflake looks out of place on this car. There is surface rust in spots, but no major rot like these cars tend to have. I made most of the pictures into collages, because there are so many showing how little rust other than minor surface rust this car has. The hatch looks like it was replaced before, but there is no rot in the spare tire well or back panel (looks like the original spare tire). Missing the engine as previously noted. Also missing one of the quarter louvers, the front spoiler, and you will need to fix or replace the original rear window louvers – I didn’t secure them well enough, and they took flight during transport. The interior is much better than average – loose armrest on driver’s side, bottom cushion seams coming out of the seats, carpet slightly faded. The dash pad is not cracked. All glass is good. The 13” 80s wheels and rotten 13” Radial T/As obviously need to go. I have a pair of ’83 Ranger 5 lug drums and a set of wheel studs I will include – the rear axles need to be redrilled (the Ranger drums will work perfectly with the stock rear brakes, and you can buy 5 lug front rotors pretty cheap for the Mustang II front end. I have included the hard (impossible) to find Cobra II items – factory V8 motor mounts and oil pan (those items pictured along with other items included). Also included but not pictured are the original micro bellhousing C4 (and the used converter), rebuilt with an A servo and Raybestos clutches/ frictions, needs final adjustment of the bands - zero miles. The other side header is also included – it needs 2 tubes repaired. These are the good headers that stay within the crossmember – not the set that leaves a tube hanging underneath. All of the A/C parts are included, brackets etc. Basically, everything but the engine. I tossed the factory heads, sourced a set of good used flat top pistons and 289 heads with large valves, and am putting that in another project. Non-refundable (unless car is not as described) deposit by Paypal due within 24 hours, and the balance payable in cash at pickup. Paypal deposit will be refunded if you arrive and the car is not as listed. I have been on Ebay for 22 years, bought and sold many cars on Ebay, and give an honest, accurate description. Deposit will not be refunded if you can't manage to get your shipping arranged, or "forgot" to check with your significant other before committing. Pickup will need to be worked out in advance– the car is at my house and I work some long hours M-Th. Located approximately 20 miles off of exit 24 on I-20 in Ga. I would like the final transaction to be completed within 14 days, but I am a little flexible on that. Thanks for looking, Steve |
