Description of 1963 Ford Ranchero Deluxe |
This stunning '63 Ranchero wears most of its original Rangoon Red Paint. It is equipped with its original 260 V-8 Engine and Ford Automatic Transmission. This unique Ranchero spent most of its life so far in the high desert region of Southern California. There is no rust anywhere that I can find. It was advertised with less than 25,000 miles when I purchased it. The previous owner did not have any documentation regarding the low mileage, so I cannot guarantee it. However, upon close inspection of the paint, interior, suspension, engine and overall condition, it appears the low mileage may be original. Some of the photos show unique stamped markings on the underside of the hood and in the engine compartment, including chalk marks on the radiator support. I have been hesitant to make any changes to this Ranchero. However, I did re-paint the valve covers and air cleaner, and rebuilt the original Autolite 2100 carburetor. Some changes made in its past that I've noticed are as follows: -It was changed from a generator to an alternator system. It was a clean install and I have the original generator and brackets. -The mirrors are not stock Ford...They are "York" mirrors that were originally installed by the dealer or the past owner. -There are light-up turn signal indicators on top of the front fenders that may have been installed by the dealer or past owner. -The access panels in the rear bed were replaced and repainted--match of paint was off a bit...speaking of the rear bed---have you ever seen a cleaner bed/tailgate on a Ranchero?! The Ranchero is quite the cruiser. It runs excellent and cool. There are no options such as power steering, or air conditioning. The road tracks nicely down the road. All of the trim is in excellent condition. There are a couple of dings in the roof (see photo) and there is a small blotchy paint area on a small part of the hood. All lighting works (including the original, but the turn signal switch does not cancel after a turn. This vehicle is sold as is---where is---with no warranty. Inspections are welcome.
