Description of 1931 Ford Model A

You are bidding on a "1931 FORD ROADSTER HIGHBOY TRADITIONAL EARLY STYLE HOTROD." This car is being sold due to the owner having serious heart attack. It has never really been driven since professionally being built. The car is an original "Henry Steel" body with rumble seat. The car has been built to emulate an early hotrod as would have been built perhaps in the late 1940's-1950's. The car started out as a beautiful original roadster with black paint and the original apple green pin stripe. It even had half way decent upholstery. The builder did not want to mutilate the original body so it was made into a highboy. There are many, many accessories and modification. The grill is a choice original steel 1932 Ford which has not been modified. The radiator is rebuilt and pressurized. The hood is a 1932 Chevrolet which was used as a period hotrod piece. There are pictures of them being used at Muroc Dry Lake utilizing the hood and its 4 vents on each side for better cooling. Model A's had a 3 door hood as an accessory, this hood has 4 and is totally restored and modified to fit beautifully. The body is stock with the cowl light holes filled and is finished in Ford Coach Maroon clear coat/base coat. It was painted by a young man that has painted winning cars in the LA Roadster Show. The body is finished with a professionally built all steel rolled rear pan and side rolled frame covers. The frame is a Model A with a new old stock front crossmember installed and gusseted for strength. The front axle is dropped 5" and has all new hydraulic brake system. New drums, backing plates, everything. The rear end has been rebuilt and there is a new 2 speed Mitchell overdrive assembly installed in the chassis. The wheels are bent spoke 16" powder coated and then painted in red acrylic. The tires are all new and have the knibs still in them as the car has almost no appreciable miles on it. The upholstery is all leather including the rumble seat. The gas tank is stainless steel and is behind the front seat. The filler cap and steering wheel are Johnson Speed Shop parts. The dash is an engine turned accessory which covers a mint restored original deluxe Ford dash. This allows for 2 more extra gauges. The transmission is an all brand new Ford A even to the case and gears. The lights are 32 Ford in the front and 40 Ford tear drops for tail lights. The surrounds to the license plates are original period Northwest Seattle area accessories. It has turn signals and the spot light is a super rare accessory totally restored and replated.
