Description of 1966 Ford Thunderbird Landau vinyl top |
SEE A GROWN MAN CRY IF YOU BUY MY 66 T BIRD. Yes, it's true. I hate to let her go. But there are times in life when we just have to make sacrificesand this is one of them. A BLUE BEAUTY HEAD TURNER: It's a House of Kolors finish "electric" metallic blue that is not gaudy or weird. It just works with this body style beautifully. This color actually appears on the cover of the original showroom catalog, but was not available as a factory color so a few enthusiasts have made it happen as a custom paint job. Ah, the adventures we've had in this car! This 66 Blue 428 T Bird has always caused heads to swivel, horns to beep, thumbs to pop up, and made us new friends by creating countless conversations. You'll honestly get more attention and respect with this classic sixties beauty than cars costing 10x more. This 428 is a RARE ORIGINAL Q CAR with all matching numbers and traceable history. (see the "Q" in the VIN number.)Only about 10% of the cars were made with this motor. BUYER BEWARE: DON'T BE FOOLED BY A 390 cu.inch T Bird that has had a non matching 428 dropped in, or been worked up to higher horsepower. They may be fine cars, but they can't compare in value- authentic is authentic. This is a rust-free CA car that has lived in the East under cover for the last decade. This car runs straight and surefooted on the road. It handles and turns amazingly well for a car this solidly built; it does NOT have the "boat feel" of many American cars from this era. It's a highway cruiser that looks great around town. Would make a killer low-rider! Minor glitches include passenger power window that needs nudging to go up and down. Heater core was disconnected and is currently bypassed after a leak. (we're in Florida and don't need heat so haven't bothered fixing yet. It's a pain-in-the you know what, but not a crisis.) Power seats and antenna and door locks all work. Swing away steering wheel is a classic too! There is a music system installed that is Sirius XM ready. Hookup included but you'll need to buy a small satellite receiver for like $40 unless we make a deal that includes it. There is nothing like the feeling of 345 HP of throaty refined muscle in this 7 liter 428 with an excellent upgraded exhaust system. It's the swingin' sixties collector car for a very cool lady or gentleman who will become even cooler driving this. 52 model years young with 110,000 LEGIT miles makes this a 2000 mile per year car, so it's really been babied. A true antique treasure for the price of a decent used car puts you in the antique car hobby instantly. Go to the shows and be a part of the fun! (we did 2 shows and won a trophy at one; I'm certain we would win lots more if we had the time. All in all, a fantastic car for the seasoned collector/restorer who wants to take her up to concourse level, or for the new hobbyist looking for a a sexy but solid car. Don't pass it up, if I start feeling flush my remorse could kick in. On Apr-07-18 at 08:49:24 PDT, seller added the following information: |
