Description of 1965 Ford Mustang

Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but why not own the original, Red Convertible Pony car if you can. And you can. Check out this sweet V8 Mustang, then come on down and get yourself ready for a top down summer.
A first year Mustang convertible a good looking, fun to drive car in anybody's book. It's also fun to be seen in. Everybody knows what it is, and it attracts attention. It starts at the front of the car with the iconic galloping Pony in the grill, underlined by a thin chrome bumper. The long hood is flanked by equally long front fenders with a sharp crease along the top that catches the light, day or night. On the sides are badges for the 289 V8 engine and another Mustang backed by red, white, and blue stripes. The back of the car has the three segment taillights which started a tradition that continues today and there is a gas cap between them that has Ford Mustang in script with another Pony in the center. While this car is all about top down motoring, it must be said that Mustangs look great with that power operated top up, as well as down, especially when it's a white top on this gorgeous red paint.
Open the door, (or just look inside if the roof is down) and you will find a beautiful black interior. The seats are pleated with the Pony treatment in the seatback both front and rear. There is a black boot to dress out the roof while it is down for a unified and clean look. A chrome, three-spoke, deep dish steering wheel has a vinyl wrapping on it that breathes well and feels good in your hands even if it's a hot day and they are full of suntan oil. That deep cowl dashboard has the speedo and engine gauges easily visible in front of the driver, with the radio and ventilation controls in the center, and a big ol' glovebox off to the right. A T-handle shifter for the automatic transmission sits in a sleek center console that has a brushed metal center with black on either side. Black carpets are in great shape and protected by vinyl floor mats.
Pop that long hood open and you will find one of those precious 289 engines nestled in a neat and clean engine bay. It is completely stock top to bottom which is getting more and more rare to find these days. The inner fenders are painted black with the correct stickers and even a correct FoMoCo windshield washer bag hanging one of them. The engine block is also painted black with the air filter housing painted gold with the proper 289 Cubic Inch stickers on it. The valve covers are also painted gold with a black oil fill cap, again with the correct sticker on it. Power runs back through a 3-speed C4 automatic transmission to a solid axle on leaf springs. Up front, coil springs with a sway bar keep things under control while power drum brakes all around provide the stopping power. The rubber meets the road through 195/75R14 white wall tires mounted on steel wheels with wire basket hubcaps.
Come on down and check out the car so often imitated but never duplicated. A Red '65 Mustang convertible. It could be yours this summer.
