Description of 1964 Ford Thunderbird Coupe |
1964 Ford Thunderbird History: The Ford Thunderbird is a rear wheel drive automobile which was manufactured by Ford in the United States over eleven model generations from 1955 through 2005. The Thunderbird created a market niche that eventually became known as the personal luxury car. For 1964 the Thunderbird was restyled in favor of a more squared-off appearance, which was mostly evident when viewing the car from the side or rear. Hinting at its roots in the previous generation Thunderbird that it evolved from, the new model retained a similar grille design with quad headlights. The new 1964 Thunderbird was offered in hardtop, convertible, and Landau versions. The White over white coupe has the 300 horsepower 390 cu in FE V8 which continued as the standard engine for the Thunderbird. It is paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. This Thunderbird runs so smooth and purrslike a kitten. I will tell you about the Thunderbird in detail starting from the exterior and then I will move into the interior of this fine automobile. This 1964 Ford Thunderbird is finishedin white beautiful paint. Which was repainted about 10 years ago. It was a really good paint job with lots of hours spent to get this paint correct. The body is straight and rust free. This Thunderbird spent pretty much it's entire life in Michigan and was stored in the winters. There is one small blister the size of a quarter on the passenger side fender, it has not rusted through. There are no dings or dents on this Thunderbird or scratches. Please look at large pictures, this Thunderbird speaks for itself. It's the best color combination on a 1964 Thunderbird. When this automobile drives down the road, it turns heads everywhere! All the chrome on this Thunderbird is absolutelyperfect and has a mirror finish. All the emblems on the Thunderbird are intact and in great condition. The tires are about 2 years old with hardly any miles on them. The hubcapsare all in pristine condition with no dings, scratchesor dents. The undercarriage on the Thunderbird is 100% completely rust free. This Thunder has the original skirts still on the car and they look awesome!!! The taillightsand headlights are in great condition. All the glass on the car is original to this Thunderbird and is in great condition. All the exterior seals and gaskets are in great condition. All the trim on this car is stunning. I have had about 5 of these Thunderbirds as I am a fine automobile collector. This one by far is the best I have come across in along time. Moving on to the inside of the Thunderbird. I will start with the vinyl headliner, it's in great condition and is original. There is one small hole in headliner on passenger rear side. Other then that it's perfect. The super rare option on this Thunderbird is a 100% real leather seat option, most had vinyl. This Thunderbird boasts the original untouched white leather seats. They have some fading and cracks but still are in amazing condition. The leather smell is still in this vintage 1964 Thunderbird. The carpets are in perfect condition, along with dashboard and everything works as it did in 1964. One really cool feature on this Thunderbird is a swing away steering wheel. This Thunderbird was roll up/down windows. The blower motor works perfect. I think the original interior in this Thunderbird, makes this car awesome. The back seatsare in great condition also with a small amount of fading. All and all I give the interior a 7 out of 10 for original condition. All the pedals (gas, brake pedal) are in great condition. Again I try to give the best description on all of my cars. The trunk on the car has original vinyl and is super clean and tidy. I am going to move to the engine now. The engine has had new plugs and the carburetor rebuilt about a year ago, this Thunderbirdruns awesome and sounds great. It has had a new exhaust done about 1 year ago also. This Thunderbird has had a fresh oil changeand just needs a new owner. It's simpy stunning and like I said before the pictures speak for this fine automobilethat is becoming rare.Especially in this condition.
