Description of 1929 Ford Model A Pin Stripes |
What we have here is a 1929 Model A Tudor. This car was totally dismantled and completelyprofessionallyrebuilt. The motor and drivetrain was restored by Schmalm's in Strausburg, Pa. Thebody was disassembled and all rusted metal replaced and panels rebuilt or replaced. The frame is much more solid than when it came off the line in 1929. The interior and wiring was totally refurbishedand installed by Snyders Antique Auto in New Springfield, Ohio. This is a Model A that can actually be driven on highways. Many safety and performance upgrades were installed during the restoration. The original motor block was noted to be cracked and it was replaced. A counterbalanced crankshaft, modern valves, modern rear seal, new high compression cylinder head, placement of an oil filter and oil pressure gauge were all done. In addition an electrical ignition was placed and the electrical system upgraded to 12 volts. Also a serpentine fan belt and 6 blade fan were installed.Plus a Mitchell overdrive and a hydraulic brake system were added. Springs were replaced, steering column rebuilt and modern shocks installed. The gas tank was cleaned and rust proofed inside. Seat belts, side mirror and turn signals were added as safety features. The exhaust system was upgraded to stainless steel. The paint scheme is Chelsea Blue and Bonnie Gray with yellow pin stripping. This was one of the paint options offered in 1929. It is truly a beautiful and striking Model A. There is less than 10 miles on the rebuilt odometer. This restoration occurred over a 7 year period and was finished in May of 2016. The receipts that I have come to just under $ 113,000. I unfortunately realize that I have unwisely spent over 3 times what a top of the line Model A is currently valued. I find myself not spending the time to enjoy this fine vehicle and rather than just letting it sit and slowly deteriorate again, I am offering it up for sale. The minimum that I would accept for it is $37,500 so I am placing that as a minimum bid. |
