Description of 1966 Ford Galaxie convertible

1966 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible LOW MILES 57,000 orig miles.Car was recovered from a basement/garage after sitting for 30 years. 289 Challenger 2 bbl, 3 speed standard shift on the column, and a nine inch 31 spline rear end. Great for a 427 clone or towing that cool retro trailer. ALL original. Nothing missing but one of the chrome "500's) Even the radio is there. New water pump, radiator, freeze plugs, wires, plugs, cap rotor, tires, brakes, new carpet, new white convt top with glass window.(top needs cleaning) It comes with new ball joints which still need to be installed. New White striped tires. Needs electric switch to operate top, and possibly a new pump motor.
Story is it was passed down from a grandfather who bought it new, drove it then parked it in the basement/garage of a house. It has been repainted the original color in the 80's. Some rust but not too horrible.. mostly across deck panel behind the back window, the rr wheel fender edge, and spots on the passenger door. Some surface rust on the frame but nothing cancerous. Interior chrome is pitted. Cool car. Blue on blue.. off white top. Runs and drives well. Dash is cracked. Door panels were cut for speakers, and need replacing or speakers added. Car has minimal dings, some pitting on the interior chrome. All the exterior metal trim pieces are there including the rocker panel strip. (with exception of the '500' number on the drivers side) which is missing completely. The car also comes with matchingwheel well skirts. The bumpers are relatively straight, but dull.. painted over with silver paint and there is some rust coming through. Unrestored and far from perfect, but decent for a overall 52 year old car.
