Description of 1932 Ford Model A Roadster |
1932 Ford Model A Roadster Hot Rod with Rumble Seat. a 302 4bbl. Mustang motor with a C4 automatic and a Ford 8" rear with 3:00 gears. This car runs and drives excellent. It has a new, custom made, removable soft top which is easily installed alone. Recently had a ton of work done including, new brake rotors, calipers, pads and lines, new KYB shocks and a front steering dampening shock, 4 new 15" American Racing rims with B.F. Goodrich tires, new Holley 600 CFM carburetor, new HEI distributor with a Mallory Pro-master coil, new plug wires, complete tune up and fluid change, new B&M shifter, new battery and installed all new Auto Meter gauges in the dash, all work. This work was done within the past year or so, money invested well worth it, really brought the car to the next level performance and drivability wise. It has a 2" drop axle, rack and pinion, leaf springs in all four corners, front disc brakes (all new) anddual exhaust with Flowmasters (sounds great). This car was built in 1973 by Glassic Industries Inc., West Palm Beach Florida and is car #723. Starting in 1972 Glassicintroduced the Ford V8 drive train. Under supervision and with the assistance of Ford engineers this car was brought up to the standard where as it actually was sold with a Ford warranty and was serviceable nationwide. Ford requirements included the manufacturing of purpose built, heavy duty frame, leaf spring suspension in all 4 corners, disc brakes and otherguidlines for Ford to warranty this car. So in a nut shell, this car was not some cheaply built replica car. The fiberglass is said to be the heaviest out there (fenders are approx. ¼" thick), you can jump on the running boardsand it has a 3" x 4" full box framewith factory welds. Glassic also took the liberty of not trying to do an exact replica and combined the best of the 1931 and 1932 Model A Roadsters. They also made some design changes to accommodate modern driving, such as, they lengthened the doors for easier access as well as the passenger compartment for comfort and leg room. If you've ever driven a real 32 Roadster then you would know they are very tight, this car actually has some leg room and is comfortable while driving. Glassic built about 1600 cars in total spanning approx.10 years. They built mostly1931 Phaeton's and very few Roadsters (exact amount not known), this is one of the very few Roadstersmade. There have beena fewmods/upgrades made since this car was built. Itnow has a real steel 1932 grill and surround including the lower pan, side fly windows and it is also registered as a 1932 Ford A Roadster (nice bonus). The interior is in excellent condition and is very nicely done andall of the chrome is excellent. This car was painted about 6 years ago and shows well, but not perfect, only a few minor flaws.I also have the engine/hood side covers that go with the sale, they are yellow, missed the red paint job.The battery was moved from under the seat to the rear deck in the rumble seat area for easier access. It does get in the way of the lower seat cushion and a second rumble seat passenger. If you preferred, it could easily be moved back under the seat, everything is there to do so.This is an opportunity to get into a super cool, great running 1932 Roadster without spending the big money that a steel one would cost. I am includingtwo walk around videos with it running. One with the soft top on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vN-BTfeSmig https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40l8QcdysS4 Sold with current Ct registration and Q1 bill of sale.
