Description of 1972 Ford Thunderbird Deluxe Trim including side marker lights |
1972 Ford Thunderbird:Original 36,232 mile car. Arizona and Texas car with no rust. Built April 13th of 1972. This Thunderbird was optioned very nicely with the Largest motor availablefor this model which was the 460.Originally purchased by a doctor in El Paso (Casa Ford). He later moved to AZ where the vehicle was sold to an older lady. When she passed away we purchased the vehicle from her estate. The last service records we have were done in 2004, and since then less than 2,000 miles have been put on the car. I describe the condition of this car is equal to what a 5 year old low mileagecar might look like. Body: Paint appears to be original from all that we can tell. The paint has a deep luster. The trim is complete, and has a great shine. The landau top is in excellent shape. No evidence of the normal rust associated with a soft top. This car does have the optional side marker lights. Interior:Dash is crack free, All of the rubber is still soft, Seats, and vinyl panels are in excellent shape. Very nice condition with some small exceptions noted below. Power seat, and power windows work. Engine Drive Train: All appear original, and are complete in very good condition. Chassis: Clean as a 5 year old car. Still displaying the original chalk, and grease pencil marking applied at the factory. The body pan shows the original oxide primer and light undercoating. slight surface rust on the drive shaft which were shipped bare metal. Trunk: Original carpet and tire cover are in good condition. Tire and jack are present. Drivability and Mechanical: I drove this car around Phoenix on a 109 degree day, and this car did not run hot. In fact it ran perfectly. The brakes work great. The steering is effortless. The A/C blows blows cold. Lights all work including the turn signal cancelers. As listed below, the radio does not work. The power seats, and windows work. This is a delightful car to drive and it gets a great deal of attention.
Only few small issues known: Radio does not work. It turns on but just makes static Pass side wheel trim has a few dings in it. Drivers seat is missing on button on the back of it, but we still have this piece. Please call me at 602-908-9267 to discuss a price. I am happy to sell outside the auction. We are also happy to have the car availablefor inspection. We have a lift if you would like to inspect the chassis. Thank you for taking a look. |
