Description of 1965 Ford Mustang |
This car is ready to be a daily driver right now, or an awesome car just to work on! Here are some great things about this Mustang: • The car has NEVER left the SF Bay / Sacramento area. It's a California Mustang in the truest sense. And as long as I've had it, it has always been stored in a garage. • And the car comes with the original owners manual, card, and both sets of the original keys from when it was first purchased in September 1964. Other good things to know about the car: • Solid bones. Body is straight. No waves or deformities. Under body and frame are in great condition. Sheet metal looks in great shape and no body filler as far as I'm aware. • Matching numbers. The fender VIN, original Ford door plate, and owners card all contain matching numbers. • I was told when I bought it, the car still has the original paint from 1964 (Ivy Green/R) that still shines and feels like glass when waxed. • Comes with the original, black California plates from 1964. • Interior has the original seat belts, original radio, and original 4-speed manual shifter (While a new boot from a '69 Mustang is in it now, I also have a brand new shifter boot for the '65, as well as the retainer plate, which you'll get with the car if you choose to switch it out). • Original 289 V8 (informed by original owner) • Brand new Holley 600 CFM Carburetor • Brand new battery • Brand new Scott Drake muffler • Brand new tires • 4-Row Radiator, PerTronix Flame Thrower, and more. It runs great! I have video of a walkaround and starting the car on Vimeo. Search "1965 mustang for sale", and it's the video titled "Mustang_Walkaround" by Joshua C. And while it's great and can be driven daily right now, I would also refer to it as a project car because it doesn't have some of the aftermarket bells and whistles you find on some other redone Mustangs (but if it had those things, I'd be selling this for over $20k). Those include: • Drum brakes, not discs. The pads and drums have been inspected and are in great shape and firm when you press the brake pedal. And the master cylinder was just replaced. I drive this on the freeway and around the city without any issues. • Single exhaust, not a dual exhaust. But that just means it's less obnoxious when driving in a crowded area. • No power steering, and a bit of slop in the wheel. But unless you're doing a lot of three-point turns, that's not really a big deal. Move even the slightest bit, and it's smooth and easy to steer.• No A/C. But you can install that, if you like (or roll down all four windows and drive real fast!) • Very slight oil leak, but nothing that seems to be affecting the car to the point of concern. And it's an old car (comes with the territory). It all sounds amazing, right? So why am I selling it? Well, my dream was to strip it down to its frame and completely rebuild it from the ground up. But, I simply don't have the space to do that. And instead of it sitting around, not getting the attention I want to give it, I figured I'd sell it to someone who can put the love and care into it that I can't right now. I love this car. It's been great. And I have no complaints about it. Let me know if you have any questions. Want more pictures? Want a video? Just want to ask a something random about it? Feel free to reach out. I aim to respond within 15 min. And a note to all scammers who reach out: It's always obvious who you are, and if you message me, I will mess with you for the fun of it. Thanks for looking. Happy bidding. |
