Description of 1931 Ford Model A 5 Window Coupe

You are looking at a survivor 1931 Ford Model A 5 Window Coupe. They are one of the best years and body styles for the Model A Ford and this has been lovingly cared for by the same owner for over 40 years. Unfortunately the passing of the owner and the sale of the house forces the sale of this beauty.

This is from a different estate than the 1931 Model A Roadster and 1930 Model A Tudor we are selling. Below is a video collection of the Model A:

This 1931 Ford Model A 5 Window Coupe features a the 4 cylinder engine, 3 manual speed transmission and has been elderly adult owned from an estate in Brookfield, WI. It has been stored in a temperature controlled environment for years. We properly prepped the engine and have it running and driving fairly well for it's age. It has been extremely well cared for over the years. Extra parts and the generator are also included in the sale.

The interior is beautiful but does have a few small spots on the seats and floor as shown, the exterior is rust free and it looks outstanding, but does have a few marks and nicks from being driven. The wheels are in superb shape, it has old Firestone tires that are in good shape. In addition, the Model A had an extensive restoration 30 years ago but has been driven. Everything we tested works including the horn. It may need carb work from sitting, and the small window on the passenger's side has a small crack as shown. We would also recommend checking and changing all the fluids.

Note that the engine was frozen when the vehicle was restored and replaced with an engine that was a month off of the VIN number. The engine was produced in August 1930 and the body is from September, 1930. The VIN number on the title is A3790277 and the engine number is A3940483.

Given the condition of the interior, engine, transmission and body, it is hard to find anything cleaner than this. We were impressed with how well the engine starts, runs and idles and how well it shifts and drives. The brakes are typical original Model A and are manual drum. It is a nice honest Model A in outstanding shape for the age.

If you are looking for a new car, no squeaks or rattles, or the reliability of a Toyota Camry, this car is not for you. If you like a bit of patina, understand what you are buying and that this is for parades and trails and are an early Ford enthusiast like us, this vehicle deserves a closer look. They are a basic vehicle, with marginal brakes by today's standards, and no protection. We ask that bidders know what they are buying.
