1978 Ford F150 short box 4x4. This is the top of the line Ranger Lariat package with every option you could get back in the day. 6.6L 400 V8, automatic transmission, quad front shock setup, AC (needs charged), intermittent wipers, cargo light, locking hood release, even has an 8 track player. Truck is in very good condition and runs and drives great. Not a show truck, but a very nice driver. I bought this truck from the second owner, who owned it since the mid 80's and kept it in his garage. It was nearly all original when I bought it with the exception of some accessories that I took off. I have a nice matching lighted Lund moon visor, running boards, bugshield, and a topper that I can include in the sale. Within the past year I installed a complete Rough County 4" suspension lift system with all new shocks, coils, rear spring packs, etc. Has brand new 35x12.50 BF Goodrich mud terrain TA's on 15x10 wheels. This truck drives and handles down the road very nice. The engine runs very well, does not smoke, etc. Transmission shifts good, 4x4 system all functions well. Had reman. cylinder heads installed a few years back, and was told the transmission was rebuilt at the same time, but have no paperwork to prove it. I recently replaced all the spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, ignition module, and the pick up coil in the distributor. Newer radiator, fan clutch, belts and hoses. The truck is cold blooded after it has sat for several days, and sometimes has a little sputter when you accelerate hard, so the carburetor will probably need a kit put in it at some point. The truck is nearly rust free. There is a very small rust hole that is forming in the corner of the drivers side floor board, and the inside face of the cab corners have some minor rusting where the running boards were bolted on. The truck has had one repaint back in the 1980s that still looks pretty good, but there are a few areas where the clear is cracking some, mainly on the drivers bedside up high near the tie-down hooks. There are also a few small rust spots on the bed rails where it collected moisture from the topper that was on it for years. I was going to get some stainless bed rail caps to cover it. The interior is in good condition with the exception of the seat cover that is worn on the drivers side from getting in and out. It had a nice saddle blanket seat cover on it when I bought it, but I like the look of the Lariat seat that matches the door panels and headliner. Overall this is a nice solid classic short bed 4x4 that is a blast to drive, and has had some nice recent upgrades. I can't justify keeping it as the family cant all fit in it, so I am going to move on to a crew cab truck. Would consider trades for a nice gas Ford crew cab, a JeepWrangler, or another Ford 4x4 that interests me. Please do not bid if you do not intend to purchase, and please ask any and all questions before bidding. Highest bidder will own the truck. I will help assist in any way with shipping, etc. Truck is for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early if necessary. Thanks for looking.
