Description of 1971 Ford Mustang |
Please view my other auctions. I purchased this car about 18 years ago. At the time of purchase the car came all original with the exception of the carburetor, gas tank, and probably (but I am not certain) the front and rear seat covers. All else was (with the exception of some bolts on the body panels) original and unmolested. To my best knowledge I am the third (3rd) owner and since then there have been changes done to the car in order to increase the drive-ability and reliability of the car since I enjoyed it so much. I wanted to make it a daily driver without molesting the internals of the engine, transmission, and rear end differential and housing. After having restomoded two other cars (having learned what works well and what doesn't or won't fit) I decided to start the Boss 351. I carefully thought out each purchase to retain most of the OE look but with upgraded parts. The first picture is the current condition of the car, I removed the drive-train to paint the engine and transmission. I also removed all the interior door panels, seats, and carpet in order to clean the floor pan, install Dynamat, and reinstall new carpet. The dash, instrument cluster, and dash pad were never removed. The individual who was helping me placed Armor All on the hood and that's why it is shiny, since then it was been washed off. The second and third, picture is the condition of the car when I first purchased it, also depicts a picture on a popular website of this same car. The fourth, fifth, and sixth picture is when I purchase it and took delivery in Texas. The 7th picture unto the 11th picture is when I made the suspension and brake modifications and would drive the car. An OEM rear spoiler was installed. The remaining pictures show the process the car has undergone to replace more components in order to make it more drive-able and reliable since I enjoyed it so much. Since then I have not been able to complete the project. It currently sits with the drive-train and fuel system removed. I have not been able to finish reinstalling the interior panels. This is an excellent opportunity for interested buyers to carefully inspect the car. I have only purchased those aftermarket parts which not only fit and perform better than OEM but also have value (in my opinion). Many people will disagree and I completely understand but my point is that the parts that have been changed are top notch and worth money (if resold) in case anyone wanted to go back to stock; in many cases the aftermarket parts on the car will be worth more than the OEM parts they replaced. Keep in mind I have not touched the drive-train other than new valve cover gaskets, ARP bolts in key areas, and a transmission top plate gasket. The original driveshaft was replaced in favor of a lightweight aluminum unit with a forged yoke. Examples are (prices have not been inflated, receipts available.: The interior: Seats and panels are stock, original and in great condition only non-stock item is the LeCarra steering wheel with custom made "Pony" logo. The floor was primed and then Dynamat was placed throughout including the trunk for reduced noise levels. The carpet is brand new. The exterior of the car is very good and while in my ownership has not been in an accident and looks to be accident free. All of the panels appear to be OEM original and I have no knowledge or indication of it to be otherwise. The car is ready for a fuel system to be purchased by the new owner. It has a NOS Ford D1ZX distributor with points for a carburetor setup or an electronic conversion kit (included for the fuel injection option). The new stainless tank has an internal sump and -8an/-6an connections for fuel injection or carb and retains the factory fuel vapor canister return line plate on top of the tank. Due to the bad weather today, I am unable to post more information or pictures but will be be compiling a spreadsheet of all the parts (I have receipts, approximately $14k worth) and a pdf file of over 100 pictures. I should finish posting the information no later than 5 days from now but in the meantime I welcome all questions. I will restate that I am not an expert but do have knowledge about the car and will answer your questions honestly. I will accept a deposit for $250 within 48 hours and will not be refundable unless I have substantially misrepresented the car. Full payment will be due within 10 days of auction ending. I will also accept offers above the starting auction price only by the eBay messaging system. The buyer is ultimately responsible for setting up pickup and delivery of the car but I will help in anyway I can (I have prior experience with several other cars). I am not a reseller on eBay, just a car enthusiast. Thank you and bid with confidence. |
