Description of 1983 Ford F-250 XLT Lariat

General - What we have here is a very macho, old school truck, which is in fair to good condition. It is a 1983 Ford, F-250, XLT, Limited Edition. These are some of the most sought after of the older Fords. The speedometer shows 63,500 miles. but it could have turned over. I am the 4th owner. I have known all three previous owners, they are older gentlemen, one has passed on, and I know they did to abuse their equipment. The truck has been stored and not driven for several years. The best part of this one is it is a ¾ to, so it can do some work for you. There are no major problems that would prevent a new owner from driving the truck upon delivery. I will list below both the attributes and the deficiencies that I have found.

Mechanical This truck has its original, or period correct, 5.8 liter engine (351 CID), with an automatic transmission. It is a four wheel drive and the system seems to function correctly. The engine and transmission both have leaks, but then it would not be an old Ford if it didn't. The truck starts, runs, drives and stops. It does not smoke, nor are there any unusual noises. The power brakes and steering function properly.

Exterior - Very, very straight with awesome patina. There are four spots of rust through, three down low on the bed and one on a threshold. All are flat surfaces and easy fixes. The tires have great tread but are weather checked and cracked. The headlights, taillights, brake lights and turn signals all work. Most of the outside accessory lights do not, but they look cool, and I think the issues are probably, bulbs and switches. .

Interior - As a testament to its previous owners, the interior has been very well kept. The seat had a cover, which I removed and much to my surprise, I discovered a very nice original seat upholstery. Going into the winter, a heater here in Montana is probably our most valued option, and this one works great. All gages function, the radio does not, the wipers and interior lights do. The dash is cracked as is the windshield. All other glass is good.

Summary - This back in the day Montana truck is an excellent example of originality and is very complete to include all the garnish, trim, interior features, gages, etc. With very little work, it would make a great shop truck, tow vehicle, construction truck, toy hauler, or use for farm or ranch work. It has never been hot rodded and there are no significant modifications. What makes this model so collectable is they are still easy to work on. It should have many years and miles to work for your business, take you hunting and fishing and, or tow your toys.

Payment, Disclaimers, Storage, and Transportation - I require a nonrefundable deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours and the remainder prior to me sending you the title. I prefer bank to bank transfer, or cash in person. Please only the initial $500 by PayPal, because of their surcharge, unless you are willing to pay their 3%. Well I have tried to represent the old truck as honestly and accurately as I can. Please read my narrative; please look closely at the pictures. The truck is sold as is, where is, and with no guarantee or warrantee implied or specified; it is after all a 35 year old mechanical contrivance and things can and will go wrong. I am very proud of my 100% eBay feedback rating and will answer questions. I will post some of them so that others may benefit. If you have less than 10 bid history, please contact me so I can be sure of your sincerity and ability to pay, or I will cancel your bid. I would not like to store the truck very long because of worry about responsibility. The new owner should purchase his/her insurance prior to transport as I will have none on it. If you send after the truck I will assist with your transport in any way I can.

Good luck with your bidding and thank you for your time spent in reading my listing.
