Description of 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1

Immediately identifiable as a Mach 1 from the NASA hood scoop and also from being immortalized on TV and in the movies, this pony looks great and is ready to run! But please don't treat it like they treated Eleanor in Gone in 60 Seconds. It's too pretty and you wouldn't want to scratch it. Gold Glow is the color of this car and it is the factory original color recently refreshed. The bold black stripe on the hood captures and outlines those iconic hood scoops which are painted on, and the hood is held down with chrome hood pins. The black grill with a galloping Pony backed by red, white and blue stripes is underlined by a body colored bumper and a deep chin spoiler. A bold black stripe runs down the side of the car with Mustang in script on the front fender and Mach 1 in the stripe on the rear fender. The fastback roofline of this car is almost flat as it slopes down to the rear wing sitting up on its twin perches on the trunk lid. At the rear, another black stripe with Mach 1 lettering surrounds the Mustangs familiar triple taillights and is underlined by a newer chrome bumper with a couple chrome exhaust tips peeking out from underneath. Open the door and you will be greeted by a nice interior in subtle shades of tan. The door panel has a nice geometric pattern and has horizontal lines underscoring it. The high-backed bucket seats have pleated centers with smooth vinyl surrounding it in geometric patterns. A two-spoke steering wheel with a Mustang horn button sits in front of a wood-toned dash with a black dash pad. The tach and speedo are tucked back deeply in their pods with oil pressure, voltage, and temperature gauges off to the right in the wood of the center console. A Motorola stereo sits just below them and the T-handle shifter for the automatic transmission sits in its own console on the floor. The carpeting is gold with built in vinyl sections in the floor, and the back seats will fold down for a bit more storage space. Open the hood and you will find a 351 cubic inch engine nestled down snugly in the engine bay. It is completely stock with the original blue air filter housing and valve covers showing their survivor patina. These engines have great low-end torque and drivability, and with a true dual exhaust system, they sound pretty good too. Power is sent back through a 3-speed automatic transmission to the rear axle sitting on leaf springs with a fresh set of shocks. Front disc brakes sport new calipers and brake lines to assure good stopping performance and a sway bar to assure good handling. The rubber meets the road through BFGoodrich 255/60R15s in the back and 225/60R15s mounted on chrome Magnum 500 wheels. Come on down and check out this beautiful Gold Mustang Mach 1. And if you are the lucky one to drive it home, take care of her please.
