Description of 1986 Ford F-150 XL

Rock Solid Rust Free 1986 F150 Stepside pickup daily driver. This truck is in great mechanical shape but needs painting and wood bed replaced. I have been using this truck as a daily driver for the last 4 years without any problems. First. a few minor things that need attention. The rear sliding glass does not lock. There is a very small oil pan leak near the front of the pan (not the front seal). I pulled the pan to replace the gasket (and put in a new oil pump while it was off just because) and when I was lining up the bolts the pan slipped. I thought it was ok but after I finished noticed some of the gasket sticking out. the leak is very small but will leave a few drops under truck when parked for any length of time. The starter switch went bad so I put a pushbutton start in the dash but you still need to have the key in the on position for it to start. Every couple of summers I have to add less than a can of Freon to the AC. The fuel gauge does not work. I did not trust the water temp and oil pressure gauges so I disconnected them and installed nice aftermarket gauges. There is a small dent in the driver's door as shown in the pictures. (easy fix) The cruise control does not work and the smog pump has been removed. Ford tried it's hand at a computer controlled carburetor and ignition in 1986 and everyone knows how that turned out. I pulled the carburetor and put on a Offenhauser intake and 450 Holley 4bbl carb to remedy that situation. Also did away with the Duraspark and converted it to an aftermarket setup with new Davis Performance Distributor that included high energy coil. and wires (Davis LiveWires). The spark plugs probably have 3000 miles on them. I installed a new molded ABS plastic LMC Truck dash cover. Dynamat sound and temperature barrier on floor. irewall. and behind seat. Also put fiberfill insulation package under new carpet. The brakes are excellent and the 4 speed transmission shifts smooth and clutch is solid without slip. The rear end does not whine or "clunk" when loading. U joints are tight. The starter is almost new. New windshield installed one year ago. I also installed headers and dual exhaust with cherry bomb glass packs. The battery is less than one year old and the alternator was replaced 6 months ago. This is a solid Texas truck. I bought it 4 years ago out of Fort Worth Texas and was told the odometer had turned over at 100. 00 miles. It had been donated to a charity and I bought it on Ebay. I was told it was a one owner truck but did not verify that. With the above mentioned modifications it has more torque than a 302 V-8 and everyone knows the track record of the venerable 300 6 cylinder. This truck does not burn any oil and the engine is quiet without knocks or tappet noise. The tires have less than 5 thousand miles on them and are all terrain. I would not be afraid to drive this truck coast to coast. I drive it regularly to work 70 miles round trip. I had intentions of painting it and putting some cool wheels on it but never got it done. I have two other trucks and thought I would turn it to cash to invest in other projects. The tool box seen in the pictures does not go with the truck. Added 2/25/15 at 0409: I have been asked about the "rust" on the hood in pictures. The discoloration is not rust but fading paint where the clearcoat peeled off. You can look at the rear right back fender which is fiberglass and see the same discoloration. Also needed to add that I put on new shocks approximately 3 thousand miles ago. Can get more pictures on request.
