Although 1973 was the final year for the classic Mustang many consider it the very best. The big body agile pony cars quickly became a fan favorite once consumers realized the next model would change drastically.
This particular vintage Ford has truly been cherished & pampered. As a matter of fact it has only had two owners! Please allow me to give a hand full of details regarding it & the reason you should consider adding it to your collection.
If you've been waiting for just the right opportunity to join in on all the fun DON'T MISS OUT!!!! The smart buyer is encouraged to call (314) 649-8227 "she's is up for sale and immediate purchaseâ€!!!
First off this unique Mustang was delivered to Thoroughbred Ford in Kansas City. The dealership was well respected for unleashing quite a few specialty muscle cars during the 60's/70's era in the Mid West.
Bob Champlin (who was heavily involved with the McCarty Speedway in Kansas) is said to have ordered this car. The vehicle however would see limited usage over the first twelve years thanks in part to his career commitment.
All things being equal sometime in the late eighties it seems the torch was passed to a new lucky owner.
Thankfully the vehicle stayed in the Mid West. The second owner was also loyal to the Ford Brand. A newly purchased fox body Mustang shared garage space with this beauty until it was slated for restoration.
Although I can't give a play by play regarding the entire process it is evident that a grand effort was put forth to keep the car respectable.
The scarlet red exterior laced with black accents commands attention whenever the car cover is removed!
Even after many years the paint still looks incredible & maintains a high gloss shine.
The surface is smooth to the touch. Base coat clear enamel takes place of the factory lacquer covering. The contour is honorable and free from amateur defects.
You may find a few superficial nicks but there's nothing that would prevent you from holding your head high at the local car show.
Leading the way up front is Ford's iconic N.A.S.A hood. Perfectly suited underneath is a flawless race ready front chin spoiler. The combination is noteworthy "everyone loves itâ€!
There's a rear wing that also helps to enhance the exterior appearance package.
Many subtle attributes make the car unique. Thankfully this 73 is void of hockey stripes so it has a much cleaner look.
It is also easy to admire the stainless wheel moldings, sporty gas cap & honeycomb tail panel!
A new tri color emblem was installed to christen the restoration as a job well done (the fit and finish is commendable).
All of the body panels are very uniform and seem to be properly aligned. It is worth mentioning this is also an accident free vehicle.
It is near impossible to honor this Mustang without mentioning the brilliant white convertible top that shields her.
The contrast provided against the exterior is truly amazing!
It happens to be a TMI brand so quality can be expected. The top straps & pads are also in excellent condition.
Many enthusiast tend to overlook the need to service the top pump, cylinders & lines regularly. There's no need to worry with this one it has been maintained properly & lowers in perfect fashion (a convertible parade boot is included).
The door glass and front windshield are crystal clear along with the rear curtain. All lights & signal markers spring to life on command. The rear bumper has been replaced with an N.O.S. quality component.
At the end of the day this beautiful pony car is ready to can be fully enjoyed! She looks great, runs strong & garners praise every time it hits the road! Let's take a final look:
SHOW OR GO!
Since we have covered the bases regarding the exterior let's see what she has to offer inside!
Ford went out with a bang (as for as options go) on this 73 model! Once the drives door is opened you can't miss the fact it's factory equipped with power windows & locks!
Everyone loves this upscale feature and it has received many accolades at the car cruise inns.
Oxford white high back buckets also really bring this model to life! The rear seat happens to be in excellent condition as well.
Front & center you will find Rally Pac gauges and a modern sound system.
A center console adds just the right touch. This beautiful cockpit also has a nice wood grain steering wheel and working map light!
To finish things off a set of FLAME RED rubberized pony floor mats were added to protect the loop pile carpet.
The interior, door panels, etc. compliments the exterior wonderfully and harkens a time when every part of a car could have character.
Once you say the word classic Mustang everyone wants to know "what's underneath the hoodâ€!
This beauty left the assembly line with Fords revered 351 power plant!
The H Code block is respected by almost every enthusiast involved in the hobby of collecting Mustangs.
The one laying under the hood here has only had to endure a little bit over 61k miles of usage!
Being stored for well over decade makes this Mustang special and very dependable!
It maintains a nice consistent idle upon ignition. All of the factory watermark decals can still be found in the designated areas. The horse power that it provides is exceptional & torque ratio values are in step with manufacturer specifications.
Preventative maintenance has been addressed by the aid of new performance plugs, wires, distributor, water pump, fuel filter, fuel pump, carburetor, battery, thermostat, coil, alternator, starter, voltage regulator, etc.
A pair of performance mufflers are situated underneath with dual exhaust to ensure that every ride is a thrill!
TAKE A LISTEN! 73 mustang - YouTube Video will open in a new window
In most Ford guys opinion no wheel works better on the big body cars than the race ready Magnum 500!
To keep the trend going a super sharp set of 15 inch rims can be easily detected on this model. New raised white letter performance tires hug the rims appropriately!
Handling is also optimal as the suspension has received a clean bill of health "road worthyâ€!
Again this vehicle is ready to be enjoyed fully! The time, resources and care that have been given through the years can't properly be measured "rare opportunityâ€!
Here's yet more good news "she's solid underneathâ€! Great floors, torque boxes & frame rails. Don't ruin your experience by investing in a rusty vehicle!
