Offered for sale is an authentic ford F1 4x4 pickup truck. The original truck is from up state New York and was owned by a service station almost its entire life. The truck was converted to 4WD in 1949. The original truck is a 1949, however decades of New York winters did a toll to the sheet metal so I changed it all out, hence the 51 front clip. This is not a Marmon Herrington, Napco, or Coleman conversion. This is what I have found to be called a post war conversion. These conversions are very rare, but the 4WD system uses WW2 components and parts are still available through NOS sources. The engine is a flathead straight 6, new starter, turns freely, was running previously however I have not messed with it. The transmission is the Rare 4 Speed HD (rare option in an F1 truck), the transfer case is divorced and is a single speed. The axles are 3/4 ton. If you are looking for a cool vintage 4x4 that is affordable to work on, rare, and will turn heads, this is it. everything on this truck is period correct. It will come with a bill of sale and vin tag. I have had 100% of the sheet metal off of this truck so I have already wrestled with the rusted frozen bolts, so if you need to take anything off it will be a breeze. The truck is complete but will need finishing, breaks etc. Please ask any and all questions, I will do my best to answer. The truck is local pickup only, but I will work with your transporter should you have it picked up. Ohh I do have the original lettered doors from the service station that I will throw in as well. They are really cool and if nothing else would help keep its story alive.
