Description of 1931 Ford Model A Convertable Cabriolet |
I have owned and driven this car for over thirty years. Until retiring I lived in California where I was a member of a large and very active Model A club. drove the car every weekend and on monthly club tours. Of the 3 Model A I own this is the best and most reliable driver. While clean. presentable and ready to go as is. for someone looking for a show car restoration candidate it is a perfect car since all the unique and nearly impossible to find 68C Cabriolet parts are there and in good condition already. Has side bowl carburetor. late 1931 indented fire wall and chrome plated interior vacuum wiper motor to mention a few of the correct features. It also has a rare Sportlite and Fulton Spare Tire Lock accessories. Trunk rack present. but lacks the folding hinges. The art deco radiator cap hood ornament has a thermometer. Twin side mount spare tires have hard to find chrome wheel covers. Mechanically the car is in excellent condition. Among the original engine parts are the Popout ignition switch. generator cutout. distributor body (not the common Model B type) and coil. Seat belts and side mount mirrors (no holes drilled) and fuse added for safety. New 6 volt battery. This is an older restoration done by previous owner with the paint wearing thin and chipped in spots and the photos may make it look better than a personal inspection would. Sold as is where is. Sorry. the 1931 California license plates DO NOT go with the car. See separate auction for them. Please call me with any questions or for further details about anything. My cell phone (702) 419-7786 On Feb-23-15 at 12:25:08 PST. seller added the following information: Several people have asked for close up pictures of the bad stuff. so I have just added the worst of it. Photo 1; hood where it looks like a broken fan blade hit. Photo 2; (ouch) this is the worst spot on the car. the passenger side cowl. The driver's side looks like only a small (hard to photograph) spot of rust. Photo 3; paint wear from driver's elbow on door and about a 1 inch crack by corner of window. Photo 4; tear in upholstery of seat frame. There is another tear about half that size on the driver's side in the same place. Aside from some foot scuff marks on the driver's door panel the rest of the upholstery is in very good condition. I might add that since the car was driven a good deal the paint on the engine shows it. I am about of room for pix on eBay. so if anyone want more or have questions email or call me.
