Description of 1963 Ford Ranchero |
Up for auctionmy 1963 ford falcon ranchero all electric car, original conversion was based on a s10 kit made by EV Americ, It has a 9" motor and currently has 12 12volt golf cart type led acid batteries for 144 volts, I originally had 20 six volt batteries in her so the suspension can accommodate either, the fewer batteriesimproved the handling and top speed of close to 70 mph, driving range about 40 mile, EV America has been in business well over 20 years and their customer support was stellar during the build, I have had zero problems with any of their components, the electric motor is mated to a 5 speed clutchless chevy transmission and performs flawless,I havebeen using her as my daily driver for eight years, batteries were replaced two years ago. the chassis underneath is rock solid with no ro, the interior is unfinished and needs carpet and headliner, the car does have some bubbling where the bed meets the cab as well as a few spots on the hood and over passenger door gutter, nothing major that couldn't be handled in a weekend, the bumpers will need either re chromed or replaced maybe even painted as the chrome is peeling of, I picked a classic to do the conversion to because the insurance is a shit load cheaper and the hydraulic brakes and non power steering don't require and extra power, on board charger can plug in to 240 or standard 120 outlet so you can charge it anywhere. car is turn key ready to enjoy! conversion costs can push 9/10k and the value of the car with no drivetrain is more than my opening bid, this is a NO RESERVE AUCTION so I am sure somebody's gonna get a great deal. please feel free to contact me with any questions, buyer is responsible for any shipping or transport cost. |
