GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present for your consideration this 1927 Ford Model T Roadster Hot Rod for your consideration. The build began in 2012 and was finished up in 2017. The chassis was all custom built out of 2x4 inch tubing. The suspension has dual quarter elliptic springs in the front and the rear and rides on Speedway friction shocks that where inspired by Harry Miller's Indy cars of the '20s and '30s. The front axle is a... Speedway tubular axle with 4 inch drop and the rear axle is out of an early ford with Speedway open drive conversion, 3.78 axle ratio. The brakes consist of 1941 Ford passenger car in the rear and 1948 F1 brakes in the front. The steering gear and pitman arm are out of a 1965 Plymouth Valiant with a 20:1 ratio. The steering wheel is out of a 1947 Buick. The 16 inch wire wheels are from a 1935 Ford with 175R x16 Austone radial tires. The rear tires are 195/80 x 16 Bridgestone Ecopia radials. The 1927 body is Fiberglass. The grille shell is off of a 1920's Studebaker. The drivetrain consists of a 205 liter Chevrolet 4 cylinder out of a 1992 S10 pickup with a T5 transmission. A twin carb manifold was created out of the OEM manifold with Carter YF carbs. Other highlights include 1981 Citation distributor, reground cam by Bullet Cams, finned side cover and custom exhaust. This was all made to look like a Model B overhead conversion by using a cut down 235 Chevy valve cover to conceal the OEM cover, oil fill and PCV valve. The custom driveshaft was built by DTS. The body is finished in 1969 Mercedes "Blau" and shows very well. The car was built with care and operates very well. This car is ready for its next owner!
