Description of 1924 Ford Model T Model T Phaeton |
1924 Ford Model T Phaeton Description 177 CID inline four-cylinder engine Two-speed manual transmission Handsome Yellow over black exterior with black, folding top Black interior Yellow and black wood spoke wheels Converted to electric start with a new, six-volt battery By the mid-1920s, Henry Ford's Model T had established itself as America's primary people mover. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this sharp 1924 Model T Phaeton that is finished in a very attractive yellow that is very refreshing over the usual standard black. It was built in May 1924 and is finished a striking yellow over black exterior with yellow, wooden spoke wheels and a black interior. The paint and trim are in overall excellent order, the bodywork is straight and solid and the engine bay is very tidy. Dual sideview mirrors attach to the windshield posts and there is a black, folding top in good order. This Model T rolls on balloon tires, 30×3.5 at all four corners plus the spare out back. Each of the four main tires wraps around a body-colored, wooden spoke wheel with factory center caps. Underhood is the Model T's ubiquitous 177 CID inline four-cylinder engine, connected to a two-speed manual transmission. It actually has three speeds but the third one is reverse. There is also a new, six-volt battery and the car has been converted to electric start from the original hand-crank at the front. Inside, the car's black in tear is in overall very good order, including the bench seats, the instrument panel with minimal gauges and the inner door panels. There are floor mats that fit under the driver's and passengers' feet. For 1924, a new tail lamp/license plate assembly appeared during the year and became the "standard" through 1927 and a "Four-dip" engine pan was introduced. The Model T was the first auto industry benchmark; it was the vehicle all other American manufacturers competed with and aspired to become; its competitors were too numerous to list here. This is a really eye-catching Tin Lizzie just waiting for its new owner to collect it and take it home. Model T and classic Ford collectors should really take note and head for MotoeXotica Classic Cars. VIN: 9848512 This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri.
