Description of 1954 Ford Other --

Triple-deuce carbs, a five-speed stick-shift upgrade, and a terrific red and white color combo headline what is already a standout classic convertible. That's what makes this 1954 Ford Crestline Sunliner is such an amazing value. This is truly a rare sight on the vintage car scene. The V8 Sunliner was premium Ford with only the station wagons costing more. So few were able to pay enough to get a Ford like this. And while that kind of admiration...only grows with time, this one was also given some nice upgrades adding to the desirability today. The red paint is an upgrade over the factory blue, because after all, we love a classic red droptop. Nothing is more timeless than a coordinating white top and whitewall tires. Plus, a great '50s classic has plenty of bright work, so it's great to see it all so complete. You have the jet-inspired hood ornament, trim framing all the glass, Cadillac hubcaps, and the grille and front bumper that both wrap around the edge. Our favorite piece is the trim that runs the entire length of the car. Not only does it draw attention to the rear fender artistry, but also it highlights how straight the sheet metal is. While this one looks great with the top up, it gets even better with the flip of a switch. The power folding roof goes down to reveal a full red and white interior. And with well-coordinated seats, door panels, carpeting, and dash, it's a nice uniform presentation. Plus, you have nice subtle upgrades like power windows, the retro-style AM/FM/cassette stereo, and the artful Impala steering wheel that follows the two-tone theme. When you slip behind the wheel, the engine-turned panel and nifty speedometer that's lit from behind by a clear acrylic panel are clear indications that the iconic Thunderbird was on its way the next year. This has extra gauges to keep an eye on the air ride suspension â€" so you know this full-sized Ford is comfortable for friends and family. 1954 was the introductory year of Ford's famous Y-block V8 motor, and so it's great to still have one under the hood. But in this one you also get an upgrade in displacement to the larger 292 cubic-inch unit. In fact, you can instantly see this one was built for extra power. That's why you have the cool Offenhauser fined valve covers and the iconic triple set of dual carburetors on top. While the triple-deuce pack lets the V8 inhale deeply, the glasspack-style dual exhaust gives it a terrific throaty sound. You are in complete control of this motor and its rumbling soundtrack thanks to the five-speed manual transmission. Yes, this classic droptop gives you modern gears with a proper overdrive! Add in power steering and front disc brakes, and this was truly built to be a great cruiser. This is a distinctive classic convertible that's been done exactly how you'd build it yourself. So you can skip ahead to the fun part and drive it home tomorrow. But the only way to do that is to call today!
