1979 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT, Trailer Special edition with a three inch lift kit. The freshly rebuilt high-performance pro-built motor was custom designed for long-lasting street performance and usable towing or off-road power. This is the second model year for full-sized Bronco, and the last year with solid front axles. This has been an Arizona truck since delivery from the factory and has never seen snow or salted roads. This truck has never been in an accident, never been painted, and has no Bondo or metal repair. The panels have very few dents, all easily repairable if you choose to paint over the patina. I recently drove this truck to work on freeways and surface streets everyday for three months with no issues. The strong C6 automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The differential has a part time kit that allows for 2WD or 4WD. This Bronco is fun, easy, and comfortable to drive on the freeway and in stop and go traffic. The motor is tuned and ready to drive. I would not hesitate to drive this Bronco across the country today. This Bronco was rebuilt to be a powerful and dependable driver and towing rig. The Trailer Special Edition comes with front and rear sway bars, dual batteries, heavy duty springs, dual front shocks, steering stabilizer, and trailer plug in. The trailer battery is wired through a 40 amp fuse. MOTOR: Freshly rebuilt and just broken in, with under 3000 miles. This is the original Ford 400 block that came in the Bronco. Cylinders have been bored 0.020" over stock, ARP rod bolts, hardened single-link timing set, Comp 255 DE RV cam, hardened push-rods and lifters, aluminum Edelbrock RPM Performer heads, ARP head bolts, stainless steel roller rockers w/guide plates and studs, Flowcooler high-flow water pump, Melling oil pump, new fuel pump/lines, Weiand aluminum intake, Holley Sniper TBI fuel injection, Edelbrock high pressure EFI fuel sump and pump, and MSD distributor and coil with 6AL ignition controller. With the aluminum heads this motor combination has a 9.3:1 static compression, and 7.8:1 dynamic compression. This mild performance motor is built to deliver about double it's stock power, and still use pump gas with no worries. This performance motor was NOT designed to pass emission standards. In the last three years and 3000 miles I have replaced many items: 100 AMP alternator, gas tank, fuel level sending unit, mechanical fuel pump, power-steering pump/lines, steering gear, Brake Calipers/pads/hoses, Brake Drums/shoes/spring-kits, Master cylinder and brake booster, Rancho shocks, Rancho steering stabilizer, trailer brake control unit, rebuilt Ford 9" differential, rebuilt front axle, resealed rear axle housing, all new axle bearings, dropped pitman arm, sway link bushings, C bushings, upper and lower ball joints, BF Goodrich AT tires, Optima red top battery, modern trailer plug and new wiring, carpet kit, all window and all door seals/anti-rattlers, door panels, head-liner, 3 point seat belts, floor mats, rear window motor/switches/wiring, vacuum lines and v-belts, radiator, coolant hoses, air cleaner/filter, distributor/ignition coil, spark plugs/wires, ignition box, regulator, heater hoses, gas tank/sending unit, Lokar kick-down cable/brackets, A/C condenser, A/C lines, blower motor, HVAC in-dash control switches. There are probably a few more new goodies I'm forgetting to mention.WHAT IT COULD USE: This Bronco is ready to drive on the trail or on the freeway. The upholstery on the front seats is rough, but they are in usable condition with seat covers. The dash pad, grill and bezels are much better than most from this year, but new ones are available. I charged the air conditioning and discovered a leak in the compressor, but everything else it needs is in place. The speakers are all wired in, just choose your sound system and install. The radio currently in the truck tested good on the bench but I did not plug it in since it's just AM anyway. The front passenger axle seal has developed a slow leak, leak stop or new seals will be needed. The center console has a small hole, so I didn't re-install it. The turn signal switch just went out for left turns and needs to be replaced or held in position on left turns. The paint has surface rust and oxidation as per the photos. The hood will likely need to be replaced when it comes time to paint the truck. This is a used truck, sold as-is with no expressed or implied warranty. The chassis has 240,000 miles on it but all the repairs and work done listed here was done in the last 3 years and 3000 miles.
