A very special new 1970 Ford Mustang Fastback was ordered by a Mr. Richard Stevenson of Beverly Hills, California in October of 1969. The order was placed by Noyes Ford of San Gabriel, California and the car was built at the Dearborn, Michigan Ford assembly plant on October 29, 1969. Immediately shipped to Noyes Ford, the car was retail delivered to Mr. Stevenson on November 18th of 1969. Mr. Stevenson had a very unique Mustang built in the very rare for 1970 colors of Black exterior with Black interior, seldom ever seen as a color scheme in sunny Southern California. He also specified a most rare, one of very few ever seen, black vinyl top on the fastback body style, most often only seen on Mustang notchback coupes. He selected great powertrain and equipment options beginning with the 351 V-8, Select-Shift Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Air-Conditioning, Tilt Steering Wheel, AM-FM Stereo Radio, Full Tinted Glass, Exterior Decor Group, Fold Down Rear Seat, Deluxe Wheel Covers and Whitewall Tires. This is most assuredly the only car built like this and of all 1970 Mustang Fastbacks built for the 1970 model year, it is one of only 36 built in these colors, rare indeed.Mr Stevenson maintained this car meticulously in his 48 years of ownership and the car never resided the entire time out of the perfect Southern California climate resulting in a 100% rock solid, totally rust free car. Refinished one time in the original Black about 24 years ago, the car still has beautiful paint on a straight never damaged body. We were told the car was always garaged, never sat to bake in the sun and evidently true by the mint condition all original interior and flawless black vinyl top. All exterior trim, rubber and glass are excellent and original to the car. The car is an all matching number car, original motor, transmission and rear end. This car runs, drives and performs very well with no issues and can be driven reliably just as it is today.A full Marti report comes with the car confirming its original build configuration and California sale history. Also included as additional documentation is the original owners manual, warranty book, warranty owners certi-card and a stack of Mr. Stevenson's records demonstrating his great care for the car over his long ownership. This is one rare Mustang and a stunning car in triple black with great options and in pristine condition. 2+2 Mustang Fastbacks are becoming increasingly difficult to find and landing one from a lifetime in the Southwest is about as good as it gets.
