This is one sharp vintage truck! This 1961 Ford F-100 Unibody still has its original look intact, with aftermarket wheels added to the mix to spice things up just a bit. Under its hood sits an updated V8 that came to be known as one of Ford's most respected engines of its era and it's in good form. This F-100 represents a pivotal time in Ford's truck building history and, with its solid overall condition, it offers the opportunity to...enjoy fun filled miles behind the wheel right away. Fourth generation F-100s like this '61 represented quite a departure from their predecessors. Ford came to realize that pickups were no longer being used solely to get to and from the work site yet were still heavily depended on to bear loads once they arrived there, so they outfitted the newcomers with a longer and lower form to accommodate an expanded cabin for more comfort while keeping the sizable bed right just as it was. The two-tone turquoise and white paint scheme on display here is a great fit, very much in keeping with the style of its time while injecting just a bit of freshness. It sits over a straight, well aligned foundation with nice lines all the way around, and even gaps surrounding its hood and doors that accompany a tailgate that opens and closes very smoothly. From the brightwork to the badging to the glass surrounding the cabin, everything on board appears to be original and it all looks far more than presentable. Should you decide to do some freshening up, however, it can be done with no appreciable down time involved. The interior features a two-tone scheme to match what's outside and it's a great looking driving environment. Nearly everything inside the doors is in its original configuration but has obviously been revitalized somewhere along the line, so there's not really much wear evident on the bench seat or the door panels to each side. Just in front of that bench seat is a Lokar shifter that really looks great in this setting and the modern steering wheel sitting on its tilt column blends well with its surroundings. Just beyond it, the dash area is looking strong - it's wearing clean paint and features a clear factory display that's joined by aftermarket AutoMeter gauges to each side. The bed area in back is protected by a spray on liner that nicely matches the turquoise of the exterior and appears to be in good shape. At the center of the engine compartment, a 351 cubic inch Cleveland V8 sits in place of the original motor. True to the sterling reputation it earned over the years, the engine starts right up and runs strong as it sends a nice, subtle note out of its dual Flowmaster exhaust. Just behind the 351 is a 3-speed automatic C6 transmission that shifts very smoothly and features a cooler for added durability in more extreme driving conditions. A relatively new aluminum radiator also sits up front to guard against overheating. Power steering makes this classic truck easy to navigate on its set of 15" American Racing wheels outfitted with Firestone Precision Sport tires. This 1961 Ford F-100 Unibody features a sharp looking exterior and a strong running condition, and it would be a perfect fit for the vintage truck enthusiast looking to get behind the wheel of a truly impactful ride.
