Description of 1951 Ford Coupe |
Fusion Luxury Motors | eBay Template
Inspired by 1950's European Race Cars, this 1951 Ford Coupe Custom is a one of a kind build that started as a simple vision and rendering. The attention to detail in this nearly 5 year build is astounding as every element of the car has been carefully designed while staying true to the theme of a 50's era race car. The body has been Wedge Sectioned 5.5 inches in the front and 2.5 inches in the rear while both the roof and hood were "pancaked" The rear quarter was re-shaped while the lower quarter was extended by 1.25 inches. The wheel wells were radiused and flared while all glass has been flush mounted. Front and rear bumpers were removed in favor of custom roll pans. Custom Chrome Grill and custom fog lights with mesh guards were installed for added race car flair. The chassis is a custom Art Morrison frame rails and front suspension while Speedway Engineering independent quick change rear end is used with custom built and modified Thunderbird Uprights for the rear control arms. All of the suspension components were prepped and coated with dull nickel and accented with PPG Gold Paint. Power comes from a 1956 Lincoln 368 c.i. V8 that has been outfitted with a 1 of 3 original Hilborn Fuel Injection system with custom stacks and a modern EFI conversion using a FAST ECU. A Borg Warner T5 Transmission was adapted while Wilwood Power Disc Brakes on all four corners provide stopping power. Custom Fabricated Stainless Steel Headers pay tribute to the original styling of the Y block manifolds and connect to a polished exhaust system that exits out the side with flush mounted tips and riveted plate. The interior draws inspiration from aircrafts of the era and showcases rivets and exposed mechanics throughout. The seats were hand made and riveted together with beautifully done leather seats with contrasting inserts. At the center of the interior is a custom shifter shaft and mount that while comfortable and easy to use, are purely masterful pieces of art. Custom gauges by Classic Instruments provide excellent visibility to the critical data sets while Vintage air provides creature comforts. Steering column is by Ididit and custom painted while the Nardi Steering wheel is very comfortable and sturdy. Overhead, a custom console with artfully labeled toggle switches handle all elements of this custom masterpiece. The stance is completed with Authentic Magnesium Vintage Racecar "Knock-Off" wheels that were inspired by Novi Indy Car Wheels and wrapped in Goodyear tires. In true racecar form, this coupe's stance is low, but the front-end can be lifted via air canisters to allow more clearance when needed. There are truly too many details to list and this build if fully documented with a complete build book and secondary photo album.
