All Steel Cabriolet Street Rod 405hp LT5 Corvette V8 Automatic Leather Interior /// The beneficiary of an extensive, body-off restoration that was completed in late 2017, this Ford's smooth steel was super solid before its intricate freshening even began. Over the course of the car's detailed, nut-and-bolt build, that metal was subjected to a deep massage that culminated in a glossy coat of silky black 2-stage. And it all adds up to one classy drop-top that celebrates the fusion of... some of Ford's greatest design work and some of the best modern technology money can buy. Sourced from a 1993 ZR-1, this roadster's hot LT5 V8 benefitted from a $16K overhaul that complemented fresh machine work with ported heads, a ported intake, custom cams and new JE pistons. Behind that mill, a cooled 700R4 4-speed spins a smoothed Ford 9-inch. That axle pushes a triangulated 4-link rear-clip, which is constructed from polished control arms and adjustable coil-over-shocks. Opposite that clip, a Heidts independent front-half hangs power rack-and-pinion steering behind polished control arms and Aldan American coil-overs. That suspension rolls under a sturdy factory frame that's been boxed, reinforced, smoothed and painted. Stops are brief when a polished, floor-mounted booster charges braided steel lines to clamp four polished calipers on four vented rotors. And at the corners of the chassis, red spokes spin 195/60R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As in front of 255/70R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As. Pop the doors and you're immediately greeted by a wide bench seat that's dressed in Swiss hide leather. At the front of that seat, a body-matched dash frames sedate Auto Meter telemetry. Below that dash, luxurious carpet floods polished foot pedals and a long Lokar shifter. And in front of the driver, a banjo-style steering wheel spins a leather-wrapped hoop around a polished, tilting column. Call, click or visit and claim your ticket to classic car fame!
