Description of 1965 Ford Thunderbird Thunderbird |
I'm 77 and purchased this T-Bird in 2012 from the former VP of the Northeastern Thunderbird Club out of Mechanicville, New York. Paid $23,500 for the car and $1,500 to transport it from NY to Idaho. Have $25,000+ in it and must sell due to health issues. Beautifully restored. Runs and drives excellent. Paint, interior, top and chrome all excellent. It has remained fully garaged and covered every day since I have owned it. Only drove it to two local car shows and have put less than 200 miles on it since purchased. I was told that all parts of the retractable convertible mechanism were replaced with new. It works flawlessly. I do not know any of the restoration specifics. Starts easily, no smoke, shifts great and brakes work super. Color is Diamond Blue (light powder blue). Interior is white with red accents. It has the 390 cubic inch, 300 horsepower engine with the console stick automatic transmission. I believe this was the first year for standard front disc brakes. It has the tilt away steering column for easy access, sequential tail lights and the top is the fully hidden retractable fabric convertible top. There is no ugly convertible top and top cover on the rear deck. It is just nice and clean as the pictures show. I will include a like new full fitted car cover for it. The convertible top is a dark blue and is in excellent condition. Sorry about the condition of the car. I see the white walls needed cleaned up and the air cleaner was dusty. It is still cold in Idaho and I did not take time to detail it before pictures. Recently, I looked up the Hagerty and NADA book values for this car and was surprised. Hagery shows #1 Concours value at $50,900. I do not believe this would qualify as Concours, but don't know. #2 Excellent is $38,100 and #3 for a good or average car is shown at $23,700. This car meets the Excellent #2 definition. NADA seems to be out in left field for this car. They show the High Retail at $107,325 and Average Retail at $68,175. Crazy! I've set a very low Buy It Now price on this car and simply want to get some my 2012 investment amount back. I will be happy to cooperate with your transport company and it is easy access and easy loading at my area. No PayPal or Cashier's check payments due to the rampant fraud. Will accept a direct wire transfer for payment. My zip code is 83686 for Nampa, Idaho (near Boise) if you want to obtain transport quotes. Also willing to pick you up at the Boise airport, if you elect to fly in and drive it home. |
