Description of 1922 Ford Model T |
I've had it since 2002 and have made it into a very reliable, tour-ready car. I'm very involved in our local Model T club and have taken advantage of the knowledge of Model T maintenance readily shared by our very knowledgeable members. Lizzie has been on many tours. The body is unusual compared to other styles of wood bodies. In the day it was used for light delivery, perhaps a bakery or pie wagon. At one time the US Post Office and UPS had similar vehicles. Since I've owned it the motor, transmission, rear end and wheels have been professionally rebuilt. Hardened valves permit regular unleaded gas to be used. I will provide a list of all new parts added in the drive train restoration, along with receipts and dates of parts purchases. Hickory spoke wheels by Calimers, battery, 12v coil, ammeter, rebuilt Kingston carburetor, exhaust manifold, starter switch replaced with solenoid, electronic distributor by Texas T, Kevlar transmission bands, newer fuel tank, sediment bowl, wheel bearings, recently rebuilt starter, high volume outside oil line, magneto magnets replaced with oil slingers, rims, radiator hoses and belt, door curtains, all steering components replaced. Also included is a removable wooden box made for this car. It can be used for storage and a make-shift passenger seat in the rear compartment. Tires are good. Radiator is good - does not overheat. I recently purchased another Model T project and need to make room. It is time for someone else to enjoy and appreciate Lizzie as much as I have. Please e-mail or call with questions at 352 446-0331. The vehicle is in The Villages, FL, which is 1.5 hours north of Orlando and Tampa and just south of Ocala.
