Imagine the stir you'll create cruising down the highway or pulling up to the local hangout behind the wheel of this 1954 Ford F-1. It's an attention getter of the first order and features a well-configured drivetrain standing by to provide smile-inducing excitement. Harkening back to a far simpler time, classic pickups like this have long held a singular visual charm. Based on passenger car underpinnings only a few years before this '54 leapt into service,... Ford's own line of trucks grew up fast around this time and, as the Country was embarking on a post-war building boom, their manufacturer began to realize just how much they'd be depended on for heavy duty labor, outfitting them with the noticeably larger dimensions and vastly improved chassis sported by this specimen. The endlessly appealing blue shade it wears will elevate your mood just by gazing at it, and while it could use some refinement to bring out its best, it provides a great look for this pickup. There's no doubt that this truck is plenty head turning in its present state, with its distinctive shade and straight body wearing a lowered stance for just the right hotrod vibe. Clean glass surrounds the cabin, accompanied by still-fresh rubber seals for protection from the elements. Up front, the Sylvania headlights are crystal clear and, while some of the badging has been deleted to allow the eye-catching exterior shade to take center stage, what is on board is nice and sharp. Inside, the tan vinyl bench seat provides a nice contrast to its surroundings - it sports a nicely fitted cover and is very comfortable, sitting over tan carpeting to tie in nicely with the rest of the interior, which features some really cool accents across its blue dash and door panels. An updated aftermarket Chevy steering wheel now sits on the tilting column and, if you look directly through it you'll see just how sharp the parchment colored instrument panel is, with its array of gauges surrounded by the smooth steel of the dash. A Vintage Air climate control system has also been installed, and while all of its components are in place and ready for action, the compressor will need a little attention to get this feature back up and running. In back, the bed area is solid and straight - it was covered a while back with spray on bedliner that's done its job, so there are no major scuffs or scratches on display anywhere inside. This vintage Ford has been thoroughly outfitted to be well suited to the demands of spirited driving and harbors plenty of power. The 350 cubic inch V8 underneath its hood is surrounded by the compartment's blue steel inner fenders and firewall and it wears a pair of Vortech heads and an Assault Racing intake manifold, upon which sits a 4-barrel Edelbrock carb. An HEI ignition has been added for maximum spark, and the radiator up front now teams with an electric cooling fan to keep operating temperatures under control. The engine pairs with a 3-speed automatic TH350 transmission that's shifting smoothly, while the 3.23 ratio rear end rounds out the drivetrain with a nice balance of strong acceleration and reasonable RPMs at highway speeds. Featured power steering equips this classic with refined handling abilities, while power brakes bring its set of show-stopping 20" Foose 5-spoke wheels wrapped with Nitto tires to a halt promptly. The undercarriage appears to be ready for plenty more miles of driving enjoyment. With its outstanding mix of vintage appeal and high-performance components, this 1954 Ford F-1 is a great driver and its visual impact is undeniable. Call today!
