This 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback offers visual impact in abundance, but it's got far more going for it than sheer curb appeal - though there's no denying how important that is. It's packing some serious power via an upgraded engine considered to be one of its manufacturer's finest from its era and, having been driving an unusually low 83,000 miles, is a great driver that's ready to hit the road right away. Such an awesome looking car!... It hails from a class of first generation fastbacks widely regarded as some of the most magnetic specimens ever to bear the Mustang name and features the stouter overall look and wider track that debuted the very year it came out. Its red exterior has a pleasing vitality - not to mention plenty of shine - and a thorough detailing session will bring out its best. Fresh looking bumpers that have recently been either re-chromed or replaced altogether are now in place both fore and aft and the remainder of the exterior trim, though likely original, presents impressively well. Mustangs of this era rolled off the assembly line equipped with loads of style and this '67 reflects an almost entirely factory appearance, with only a couple of slight modifications that really work well in this setting: a pair of black stripes over the rocker panels and blackened tail light bezels looming above a pair of chrome tail pipes. The exterior alignment on this classic is very solid - the doors, hood and deck lid all feature nice, even gaps. The interior has the same tan color it began with and really pairs well with the red exterior. Front buckets lifted from a Fox bodied Mustang now sit in place of the originals to offer quite a bit more comfort and adjustability and they look surprisingly at home surrounded by the otherwise factory correct components. This is a very comfortable driving environment that offers the option to either use those upgraded buckets as a springboard for further modifications or take things back the other way to stock configuration. Below, the carpeting is in extra clean condition, with no stains or wear spots, while the headliner above was recently replaced and is very well-fitted. The aftermarket steering has a nice feel to it and sits just in front of a dash area that's in good shape, with clear, functional gauges in its cluster and an AM/FM/CD stereo recessed into its center to fill the cabin with sound. In back, the trunk area is properly detailed, with plaid floor lining that matches the spare tire cover. The 351 cubic inch Windsor engine now taking center stage in the engine compartment has been dressed up with a chrome air cleaner and chrome valve covers and enjoys a definite power advantage when pitted against the factory offerings of this '67s era. It's one of Ford's most revered classic engines, pairing its strong performance with time-tested reliability. True to form, this one is running great - it, along with the 3-speed C4 transmission sitting behind it, was recently serviced and both an aftermarket 4-barrel carb and Edelbrock intake manifold are now in place to maximize its output, while an aftermarket coil has also been added to provide a hotter spark. Power steering makes this eye-catching classic easy to navigate as it cruises on its set of 15" wheels with sharp blue centers. Below, the undercarriage looks solid and straight. <BR.
