Description of 1956 Ford F-100 |
Do not buy if you do intend to pay, thank you. Selling my 1956 steel F100 that's been in my family for sometime now. My brother had it before me, in 2007 this truck had an entire restoration to the tune of almost $75K at that time when he purchased it. It's been driven a little over 3000 miles in the last 11 years. For the past 2.5 years it's been sitting in the garage and in that time I have installed a chevy 396 big block and Turbo 400 transmission, only put a 120 miles on the truck since. When the shop reinstalled the hood they didn't get it aligned as it was before they removed it, It closes fine but there's more of a gap on the passenger side now. Body of this truck is Rock Solid and there is zero rust ! In 2007 the paint job was $12k, eventhough this thing looks beautiful there are a couple flaws here and there. When the truck was put on a trailer and taken to the shop the trailer they used was too narrow and they mess up the paint as you can see in the pics on the running boards. Truck has a low stance so there are scuffs in the paint around the bottom front end as well. Also when they removed the hood at their shop one of the mechanics caused a bump/chip of the paint on the hood in the front and had spilled something on the paint which caused a stain. I'll tell you what, I made them reimburse me big time for what they did. Since putting in the Big block motor had to install a floor ratchet shifter. Truck has front disc brakes and rear drums, power windows, power seats, power steering, tilt wheel, A/C is all there but not charged up. There is a video screen intstalled with an Alpine stereo and twin Alpine amps under the seats which are not hooked up at the moment. 2 months ago I had redone the entire front suspension, all Moog (made in USA) ball joints, inner/outer tie rods, drag link and such. The brake booster and master cylinder were rebuilt, and a newproportioning valve was installed. Also wired in powered linear acutuators for the tilt hood, very cool This 56 is Loud and Proud, engine and trans run beautifully and there is Power !! Please ask all questions prior to purchase not after the fact, thank you!
