It is a smooth running, rust-free classic that you don't see very often. And with just a few custom touches it definitely stands out from the rest. This car was built at the Dallas factory and originally finished in Aquamarine with a Turquoise interior. Can you say 1960's?... That has been toned down starting with the black cherry paint and a custom tan power top with matching boot. It makes for a very sleek look with the car's wide and long lines. The Galaxie has great design elements throughout, from the acrylic fins in front to the turbine style taillights in back. And you can't miss the quarter panel "washboard" panels. Note the car also includes matching fender skirts.Under the hood is the optional Z-code 390ci engine with an Autolite 4100 carburetor. It's a very smooth setup with plenty of torque to propel this big Ford without any trouble. Behind the engine is a Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission followed by a 9" rear end with 3.56 gears. There is also power steering which is a must for a car this size. The brakes are also power with an aftermarket booster and dual reservoir master cylinder from CPP. One of the best attributes of this Sunliner has to be its custom interior. The original style seats have two-tone leather skins that look fantastic, especially with the top down. There are matching door panels with custom armrests and map pockets. There is also a custom center console with an arch armrest, air ducts, courtesy lights, and a DIN mount sound system. The dash remains factory and blends nicely with the custom touches. Note the trunk also received custom upholstery. This is a very comfortable car that floats down the road. It is easy for anyone to drive and has a great look that puts a contemporary touch on the classic Galaxie lines. Grab three friends, load the trunk, drop the top, and enjoy what these cars are all about.
