1970 Boss 302 Matching #s Az desert Survivor well optioned
This has been my personal car since 1996 Its been in my garage since 1996 only coming out once or twice a yr to cruise around in or take it to a local cruise nite. Before that it did sit in the Az sun and got the cool patina. I pulled it out of the garage and worked on it a few hours today. Put fresh gas in, 2 of the small rubber fuel lines under the car finally split, changed those, and after about 5 times cranking it, it came to life, first time in like 2 yrs. The carb on there prob should be rebuilt or just put the OE style back on. I had it running for about 10 minutes today, and the motor sounds nice, solid lifters and all. It has trouble idling and prob could use a fresh set of plugs. Cap, rotor and Belden plug wires are not that old at all. Im going to drive it around the block this week for fun. Keep in mind its hard to start hot or cold at the moment. Im sure its carb related, because once it starts, the throttle responds well for the carb not being touched. It was originally sold here in Tucson and has never left Over its lifetime its only been driven 39k original miles, also documented on the AZ title. Ive driven it maybe a few hundred miles since I bought it. Probably one of the coolest, nicest UNRESTORED Boss car out there today. I have a 2 videos on Youtube too of it, email me for links. Put this car in a line-up of other Boss cars and watch people gravitate to it. I cant take it anywhere without people wanting to talk about it. Not just because its a Boss, but because of its condition. Included are: Eminger Ford Invoice - Marti report - and Ford Quaility Control Report - which is really rare as Ford only pulled 1 car off the line to do this report ever so often, not on every car. We found it under the carpet with 2 Build sheets - See Pix

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: I call it a survivor because its not been heavily modded etc. Still wearing whats left of its original Grabber Green paint from 70 with areas of primer showing in many areas on top. Whats left you see today, is after 50 yrs of being in the Az sunshine, a patina that everyone who sees it, has to know the story behind it. Its also been driven and enjoyed but not driven much. When I got it the it the original carb was missing and still is and it had some headers on it too. I put a full exhaust on it back in the day with some Hooker I think mufflers and 2.5" piping, that resembles oe and isnt too loud but sounds good. Im pretty sure the carb will be okay to move it around and load, not sure about daily yet. Youll find alot of dust on our vehicles from the AZ climate, but you wont find lots of rust or rot. Surface rust at best. LOTS MORE INFO BELOW:
Ive been all under and over this car and saw no rot on the rockers or floors. But kinda to be expected seeing as its been in Az since day 1. The pass side lower door got a small small amount from my guess some dirt build up over the yrs inside. It would be a very easy fix and would be easy to blend into the 50 yrs patina. Being an AZ truck the floors and rockers are in great shape of course. SEE PICS below ! We have nothing to hide and plenty of pics to prove how clean it is under this Boss... WHY buy an eastcoast rust bucket IF YOU DONT HAVE TO ~!?
DONT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE FUNDS IN HAND apparently some people who use ebay arent smart enough to understand the rules. So if you have under 10 feedbacks, Ill be emailing you if you bid to make sure you are legit, if we do please reply or we will cancel your bid. Up for Auction: LOW FAIR RESERVE !!!
DRIVETRAIN: factory original Matching #s Boss 302 that runs and drives. Ive been using only 100 octane leaded race gas for the most part because it would sit alot and not get driven all that much. Shifts, brakes all work fine like stock Factory Hurst shifter and T-handle, also still has the reverse lock-out hooked up. After sitting a few weeks, it does blow some bluish smoke when I first start it and it will for about 5 minutes. My guess the valve seals are toasty. Not too hard of a fix really. Ive been running Kendall 10-40 in it for the last 20+ yrs. To my knowledge the Toploader and 9" are all original too. Some stuff was restored under the hood, like the Shaker assembly and Dual Point distributer about 15 yrs ago. Out of 7013 Boss's built 50 yrs ago, probably a handful still have their original motors. The Deluxe report does show it to be 1 of 1 :)
INTERIOR:take a look at the pics. Its about 80% original still here too. I did redo the driver side upholstery, and dashpad about 15 yrs ago. Also added a modern radio around the same time. Headliner is coming loose too. Fold down back seat option too. The white interior is one of the most sought after colors for a Boss, as is the whole color combo. Rest of the interior is pretty much original but shows decent for being 50 yrs old. It never wanted to over restore it, but keep its aged look on purpose. Meanwhile, rest of the country is over restoring every Boss they can find trying to cash in on it all. Marti report shows factory tinted windows too. Rubber and seals actually not in bad shape for its age. TRUNK has the original components, correct spare, air tank etc. Those parts did get some surface rust, but it matches rest of the car. Under the thick trunk insulator, very clean nice and rot free.
EXTERIOR: the sheetmetal is all original and the body is very straight for its age. Think the car has a few small dimples in the roof which could possibly be removed easily once the headliner is out. Whats left of the original Grabber Green paint shows okay, same for the original Boss stripes etc. Factory front and rear spoilers, slats and Shaker scoop. Its not a perfect car by any means, but its still probably one of the nicest un-restored cars. The factory satin black paint faded in a few areas of course. The car really speaks for itself, check out the pics. Nothing ever touched on the outside or restored or needed fixing. About as raw as you can get. I did have the original Magnum 500 wheels re-chromed by a really decent local chrome shop (and Tucson has a few) and they still look really nice. The Firestone RWL tires cant more then 500 miles on them. A nice set of Goodyear Polyglass on this car would look nice.
SUSPENSION: the suspension is mostly all stock and original. Because I wanted to drive it and never really planned on selling it, I did install a set of Koni shocks in 2001. I also replaced the upper and lower control arms with oe style. The originals werent really that bad, but I wanted it to drive like OE when I took it out. It drives and handles nice for its age and alot of stock components still on it. But its a Boss, of course it handles well. Ill be honest, Ive pushed it around a few corners a couple times really trying to test out its ability (with radial tires) and it never let me down. Factory rear staggered shocks and swaybars still intact. I have not seen nor would I expect to, any rot on the floors etc.

There you go, probably The BEST represented 80s Broncos on Ebay. Shows you all the good as well as any bad. We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars. People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end. Having as much as the original steel on a non restored car these speaks volumes. Survivors are getting harder to find ! Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers.
