Description of 1939 Ford Standard |
Selling the street-rod automobile for a friend that is 84-years young; unfortunately he has had a couple of strokes and it is unlikely he will be back in the driver's seat. The info listed is what I have been told and may not be 100% accurate but I tried to be honest about the listing. We have set a reserve on this and will not tell what it is, but we have priced this to sell. So bid what you can afford and you may be the new owner. This vintage hot rod is an all steel car except for the running boards that are fiberglass. Believed to have been refurbished around 2004; three owners ago. Odometer is showing just over 7k miles since it was finished. I have driven this car on a 100 mile round trip at highway speeds and it runs out very well. Has a strong motor but still drives nice at 65mph. This is a driver quality car, since it was gone over so many years ago. It has some paint chips and paint webbing, but not bad at all for 15-year paint. I have tried to take pictures of these places (Webbing on left front fender on wheel lip and small cracks around back license plate box, small bubbles in paint near antenna, may be other places but they did not jump out to me). The motor is the poplar 355cid (30 over 350) with a Wieland E.O. D-256-2 supercharger. Transmission is a TH-350, 9" Ford rear-end, Camaro sub frame with disk brakes. Has a motor driven cooling fan and an electric pusher fan. An EZ Wire fuse box and wiring gives a modern update to the electrical. Custom fitted upholstery with embossed logo in trunk area. Tilt steering aftermarket column; the owner is 6'4" tall so a bigger person has no problem fitting in this collector automobile. Access is by keyless remote via door poopers. The electric trunk is also operated by this remote. Electric windows are operated by door mounted switches. Car does not have air-conditioning. Car is located in Circleville Ohio 43113 (Central Ohio) at the Pickaway County Memorial Airport, so pick up assess will be easy for car haulers. This is a private sale with a clean Ohio title registered in the owner's name. A bill of sale and the notarized title will be presented at pickup. License plates do not go with the car. Car does have a trans drip from spedo cable location, seal may need replaced or the car just driven more. Cannot provide shipping but will work with your carrier as needed. Pick up must be made within 30-days of winning the bid. If you have questions ask them early I may take a day to respond because I may have to contact the owner. |
