Description of 1972 Ford F-100 Ranger XLT

For sale is my beautiful 1972 Ford F100 Ranger XLT pickup. With 37,200 actual miles, all numbers matching, it's a pretty unique truck.
This one has a (rebuilt) 360 V8, with a mild cam, edelbrock intake, a holley 4 barrel carb and dual exhaust. Very clean. The XLT package comes with a C6 automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes and a factory AC (AC is disconnected but all parts are included). The original Swiss Aqua/White paint is quite nice with a few dings and chips but it still looks great. Chrome is in nice shape and is also all original. No rust in the areas you normally see it on these trucks: clean cab corners, sidewalls over the rear wheels are clean and as you can see in the photos only minimal rust in the bed. This truck sat in climate controlled storage for 20+ years until found at an estate sale by the previous owner, who restored it alongside his son. Lots of work has been done to update this truck.
The interior is beautiful! New seat cover and floor mats, everything in the dash works except the temp gauge, so a new oil temp gauge was installed below the console. No cracks in the dashboard. This still has the cool original large steering wheel with finger grooves.
This truck is all numbers matching, original body panels, original glass, never wrecked. Its been babied all of its life, as you can see the 8ft bed has really hardly been used. This truck has the desirable faux-wood grain tailgate and the red, white & blue XLT badges.
Two known issues: the brakes are currently very soft and the truck is not safe to drive on the open road until they are repaired. I'm not sure what is wrong there, its likely minor, but am selling as is. In addition, the truck has recently been leaking a bit of transmission fluid. It sat parked all winter (October to May) and lost half quart slow dripping over that time.
This is a 47 year old vehicle; and although it looks, sounds and drives great (once the brakes are fixed), its sold as is with no warranty stated or implied. Buyer is responsible for all pickup and/or shipping costs.

Fell free to ask questions, but know I am not a mechanic.

The truck is available for inspection by appointment for the duration of the auction in Manassas, VA. I'll do my best to be available to show it.
