Description of 1963 Ford Galaxie Country Sedan |
1963 FORD GALAXIE COUNTRY SEDAN STATION WAGON 87158 ORIG.MILES CUSTOM PAINT AND CHROMING.
Nice straight second-owner, California, low-miles, rust-free wagon, with custom paint and chroming. The side andrear glass, door handles, interior panels and trim (which were removed for complete car painting but are all included) must bereinstalled by new owner.
This 1963 Galaxie Country Sedan wagon was purchased new by a relative in SanDiego where it was driven and garaged for41 years then moved toits current home. In 2004 the car was painted to its original Ford factory code Corinthian White by a professional custom car shop that removed all trim, interiorpanels and windows. Thedoors, hood, tailgate, grille, head and tail lights were also removed to completely paint, includingthe jambs. The car has been covered and garaged until now for pictures. The paint looks great, as new as when painted, all clear coated and buffed out.
The door handles, rear window crank assembly, and bumpers were excellently re-chromed by Industrial Plating in Seattle, WA. Bumpers were unwrapped for the first time and mounted for pictures then removed, wrapped and loaded for transport. All the exterior stainless steel trim is included, with only a few pieces with dents that can most likely be worked out. Also included are at least 7 additional pieces of original used trim purchased on eBay for spares or replacement. New reproductionrubber door and window channel seals plus additional seals, rubber components and under hood pad are included. All the loose components mentioned (including windows not pictured) have been carefully wrapped, packaged and secured in the rear of the wagon.
All the gauges, heater, fan and wipers work. Needs mats for floors and spare tire well, rear seat belts, and muffler (on but worn out.)Spare tire on a rim andthe bumper jack are included. All the floors have the original crisp paint and underlayment.
Recent work includes removing the gas tank and cleaning to bare metal, reinstalling with a new original stock sending unit (gas gauge works great) new tankfiller tube, new fuel pump and filter, new rubber gas line connectors, new rebuilt carburetor, engine stainless steelbraided fuel line, new correct 29 group battery and an oil change.Engine starts right up and idles smoothly with an occasional diminishing lifter ticking and some smoke. No engine oil leaks.
Although the car runs sufficiently to load on a trailer, it is not road ready until door handles and windows are installed. It is highly recommended to transport the vehicle in an enclosed trailer if farther than a local pick up.
Extras include one ofthe original CA license plates. Complete reproduction shop manual (binding is loose), reproduction Ford engineering body and interior assembly drawings (like blueprints) and the car cover pictured.
Ford factory options included: automatic transmission, power steering, manual brakes, radio delete. (The paint shop addeda fender cutout for a stock antenna, using a Fordengineering template, before painting.) Winning bidder deposit and final payment will be accepted by PayPal only.
