Description of 1992 Ford Taurus SHO |
I am selling my 1992 Taurus SHO. The car has the Yamaha V6 mated to a 5 spd manual transmission. It was originally a California car that I had repainted when I bought it in 2012 due to clear-coat issues. Car is in Virginia (near DC) and garaged from November to March, or whenever the salt is off the roads. When purchased, I put another motor in it and it now has about 80k. 120k service was done when installed 20K ago as was a new clutch. It has recently had most of the AC replaced and a new radiator installed. The only things not working is the rear defrost asthe window was replaced via insurance w/one w/no defrost - I dont drive the car in the winter so I wasn't worried about it. The car has undergone the following modifications:Drive train:Quaifie transmission installed last year.Borla exhaust w/aftermarket Y-pipe.Clutch has about 20k on it - inspected when the quaifie went in, it was fine Interior:Behind dash bluetooth interface installed for music and mobile phones while keeping the stock head unit.I had the seats recovered when purchasedindigo gauges3 pod pillar gauges - new, (oil/water/volts I have not hooked them up) Suspension/handling:Later model sub-frame (stiffer & allows for later knuckles) addedAluminum Sub-frame bushingsLarger rear sway-barStrut tower braces front and backH-braceKoni adjustable struts all aroundFront Eibach springs245/40ZR18 inch Kumho tires on Team Dynamic rims (it doesn't rub & the tires have plenty of tread)larger cross drilled rotors up front Exterior:Professionally repainted in 2012rear windows/quarter glass tintedadded lights to non-functional "fishtanks"Chrome trim around windows deletedFactory 1995 spoiler added All in all it is a well cared for example of a manual SHO. I drive the car so it does have some minor scratches but it is in overall excellent shape. |
