Description of 1967 Ford Falcon Club Wagon |
YOU ARE LOOKING AT MY INTERPRETATION AND TRIBUTE OF CARROLL SHELBY'S RACE ASSISTANCE VAN. HE STARTED A HIGH PERFORMANCE DRIVING SCHOOL IN THE EARLY TO MID-SIXTIES. THEY OPERATED AT RIVERSIDE AND WILLOW SPRINGS RACEWAY. PETE BROCK AND JOHN TIMANUS WERE THE INSTRUCTORS. CARROLL SOLD THE SCHOOL IN 1968 TO BOB BONDURANT. THERE WERE A FEW DIFFERENT PAINT SCHEMES IN THOSE YEARS. THIS IS THE LATEST VERSION I FOUND AND WENT WITH. I WANT TO CREATE VEHICLES THAT ARE DIFFERENT AND FUN. I FOUND THIS VAN EAST OF PUEBLO SITTING IN A FIELD WITH DAMAGED FRONT SHEET METAL. IT WAS ORIGINALLY EQUIPPED WITH THE 240 "BIG SIX". IT HAS THE FACTORY C-4 AUTO AND THE FACTORY 9 INCH REAR DIFF AS IT WAS AN HD MODEL. IT CURRENTLY SPORTS A 73 302 2BBL. THE CARB IS A NEW REPLACEMENT. IT ALSO HAS THE FALCON CLUB WAGON TRIM PACKAGE. IT HAD REAR SEATS, BUT I DO NOT HAVE THEM AS THEY WERE GONE. THE BODY WORK WAS DONE WITH THE HELP OF MY DAD AND A FEW GOOD FRIENDS. IT IS WIMBLEDON WHITE OVER GUARDSMAN BLUE. PAINT IS NICE BUT NOT CONCOURSE. THE SHELBY WHEELS ARE FROM LEGENDARY. THE VAN CAN BE DRIVEN BUT NEEDS A COOLING FAN ADDED. IT RUNS AND SHIFTS WELL. TRANSMISSION NEEDS A PAN GASKET WHICH I WILL TRY TO GET DONE. I MAY ADD THE FAN SOON. IT HAS ALL NEW WINDOW RUBBER AND ALL NEW BRAKES WITH SHOES, WHEEL CYLINDERS AND HOSES. THE EXHAUST IS NEW DUAL WITH MAGNAFLOW MUFFLERS. THERE ARE STILL A FEW ITEMS TO FINISH, BUT THE NEW OWNER CAN DO THAT TO THEIR TASTE. I DO HAVE THE PADDED DASH BUT IT NEEDS TO BE RECOVERED AS IT HAS A FEW CRACKS. I HAD THE GLOVE BOX DOOR SIGNED AT A SHELBY SHOW LAST WEEKEND BY AARON SHELBY(CARROL'S GRANDSON), ALLEN GRANT, TOM YEAGER(WINNING DRIVERS), JIM MARIETTA(FROM THE ORIGINAL VENICE CREW) AND GARY PATTERSON THE PRESIDENT OF SHELBY AMERICAN IN LAS VEGAS. THERE IS STILL MORE INFORMATION AND PICS THAT I HAVE. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR NEED PICS, PLEASE CALL ME AT 303-905-7067. THANKS, BRIAN P.S. TRUE MILES ARE UNKNOWN. |
