Description of 1965 Ford Mustang |
1965 Mustang Here is a real straight and almost rust free 1965 Mustang. The body is very straight but has had some body work done to both quarter panels. The driver's side has some bondo in it. When they did the quarter panels they did not repair holes at the bottom on the quarter panels wheel wells (see photos) this should be an easy fix. The paint job (original Color) was a cheap job, but the car does look presentable. The body has some chips and paint checking especially along the drip rails where it was not properly prepared. The interior is also decent looking along with the headliner and carpets. Corners of seat backs appear to have been repaired. All glass is good. Has later cd player which works, but dash was cut to install. I acquired the car after its long sleep and did the following, changed fluids, got it running and driving, had brakes done, cleaned and polished car and registered it in my name. GOOD NEWS: Engine runs very good with NO SMOKE or Strange noises. It appears to be the original engine. The car drives nicely like a 50 year old car, with some rattles and squeaks. Floors and rockers etc are very solid along with fenders. The transmission was rebuilt I was told, but no proof. The body lines are very straight. The front suspension appears to have been rebuilt and alignment done before it was taken off the road in 2011. New aluminum radiator and newer tires with American Racing mags are on the car. Recent brake job California Salvage title in MY NAME on NON OP no fees. BAD: Salvage title due to Minor fender bender in the early 1990s was told was done by prior owner's father. The car was converted from stick shift to automatic sometime in its lifetime. The car was converted to Ford's Duraspark Ignition System, but starts runs and drives good. Wipers and horn do not work THE INTERIOR WAS CHANGED FROM RED TO BLACK. I think some prior owner got a gallon of black paint for Christmas and decided to spray everything that did not move: seats, carpet, door panels, inside hood and around all openings ie: doors, hood, trunk etc. etc. What you have here is a CHEAP drivable 1965 Mustang to enjoy, take it to the next level or drop a V8 in it. A good start for whatever you desire. THERE IS NO RESERVE SO HIGH BIDDER GETS THE CAR. BUYER DEPOSIT OF 250$ WITHIN 48 HOURS. Item is listed locally and auction can be ended at any time.
