1966 Ford Mustang 289 Fastback VIN: 6R09A10657 This 1966 Ford Mustang 289 Fastback was restored in its original color Signal Flare Red over a red and white Pony interior in 2001. Originally built in Ford's San Jose, CA plant, the car left the factory as a 2+2 Fastback equipped with an A-code 289 4bbl V8 engine that was good for 225 horsepower and 305lb/ft of torque. It is also equipped with a 4-speed manual toploader transmission. Currently showing only 518 miles on the odometer since restoration. California Dream Machines restored this Mustang from the ground up in 2001. During the restoration the engine was rebuilt to produce approximately 250+ horsepower. It was fully repainted, along with a new interior, with all mechanical aspects taken care of as well. In 2002 the most recent owner purchased the car from California Dream Machines and kept it in his possession until recently. He purchased the car with 102 miles on the Mustang since the completion of its restoration. During his 17+ year ownership he only added 416 miles to the car. In April of 2018 he had reputable muscle car facility go through the car, spending a documented total of $11,833.80 on mechanical work that included receiving a major tune up and ensuring it was completely driver ready. During this 3-month period work included the following: a new correct battery, new fuel filter, new fuel hose from the main line to fuel tank, spark plugs replaced, oil + filter change, drain and add new coolant, strut rods replaced, with some additional mechanical items addressed. The finishing touch being a full detail that included an underside and engine bay wash, interior cleaning, and polishing of its exterior paint finish. Fully sorted and restored, this Fastback 289 V8 Mustang is ready to hit the streets.
