Description of 1969 Ford Mustang GT500 |
1969 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, 428-4V Cobra Jet Ram Air engine, C-6 Transmission with the correct iron tail-shaft, this is a high quality restoration of a True GT-500. it was built at the Dearborn Michigan plant, it was built on January 24th 1969, original dealership was Joe Myers Ford Inc. in Houston Texas and Joe Myers sold this Shelby on February 14, 1969 (Valentines Day :) ) car comes with Marti Report verifying all options, Factory color is Candy Apple Red (Ford #2008-A) Black clarion Knit/Corinthian vinyl Hi-Back bucket seats, Home Office Reserve Ordering District under Special Order #2541, 3.00 standard axle ratio, ordered with the following options: 1) C-6 Cruise-O-Matic transmission 2) Visibility Group 3) Goodyear Brand name Tires 4) Sport Deck Rear Seat 5) Power Front Disc Brakes 6) Power Steering 7) Titl-away Steering Wheel 8) Air Conditioner-Selectair 9) AM Radio 10) Tinted Glass-Complete 11) Deluxe Belts/Warning light 12) Tachometer and Trip Odometer, this car is 1 of 304 with this Paint Code, car has been repainted in the correct original Candy Apple Red with A black interior as it was delivered from the factory, I wouldrate the paintquality asa9/9.5 out of 10 (there are a couple of nicks in the paint-one being at bottom of passenger rocker and believe a small couple on a quarter), the Panel fit is 8.5 out of 10 as most of these panel lines were not great on "new" delivery, only one of significance is the passenger door fit and this is fairly minor, Hood springs have been replaced with a prop rod to avoid flexing of the hood as is common of this vehicle, Interior is all correct with correct Shelby items including gauges and seat belts, the seat belts are the correct type but do have incorrect build dates stamped on them for this car, interior condition is 9 out of 10 in my opinion, all chrome/stainless look great, all glass throughout car is great, all weather stripping throughout car is great, The Rallye clock which frequently doesn't work in these old cars is working in the Shelby, the radio Is period correct but does not work and the antenna does not work, the gas-speedo and tach all work as new, dash and panels are free of cracks-splits-tears as is the upholstery which looks very good, Vin and door plate tags are all in place, the car has what appears to be its original rear end but has a replacement 1969 428 CJ block and C-6 transmission, undercarriage of this car is beautiful and it is painted in the correct red oxide primer and has the correct factory "splash" markings of paint daubs and details and has all of the factory markings-numbers-decals etc which are very important, Koni shocks in the rear, also has the correct factory type exhaust system that is clearly part of the restoration with few miles, the vehicle has the correct wheel and tire combination-belted tires vs radials, tires have plenty of treat, it ahs the correct space saver tire in the trunk with the inflator bottle, This is a Red-automatic-air conditioned car from the factory with power steering and front power disc brakes, these items are all of the correct type and manufacture, receipts are present from a recent carb rebuild-tune up-upgrade to electronic ignition and brake bleed, brakes are in excellent condition, car shows to run and drive cool with no overheating issues, fluids are all clean and recently serviced, receipts are also present for R34 AC service with a new York compressor, records show AC blows at 60 degrees at time of last service, car has been inspected and is believed to be free of leaks of oil, brake or power steering fluid, coolant system is tight with no leaks, correct belts and hoses are present throughout, under the hood the vehicle has the correct smog system-air cleaner assembly-S Tube-head shield and snorkel, it also has the correct distributor and carb-intake manifold-heads and exhausts are all the correct type, date codes on some of these items would indicate non number matching but they are all of the correct type, all under hood colors-tags-and markings are correct and done to a high level of detail, The Shelby is absolutely beautiful! she is a high quality restoration! She starts up easily every time-drives extremely well and is a blast to drive! she draws A LOT of attention every where she goes! Pre purchase inspections are welcome, I am happy to help arrange transport of the Shelby to owners home town so just ask if interested, copy and paste the 5 youtube links below onto youtube to view very recent videos of the car. https://youtu.be/n2_KCdG5o1g https://youtu.be/Fqb4Yz73Rvk https://youtu.be/oQmOUWrPYso https://youtu.be/QWhlCI8siG0 https://youtu.be/HwxyLzYcZqE |
