This is the quintessential California surfer wagon. 1953 was the Last year of the Legendary Flathead V-8 motor, this one being designated the 8BA. Still the original 3-on-the-tree transmission and motor, which still shows some of it's original rare Tangerine color! This car has been accepted To run at the McCormick Classic Car auction in Palm Springs in November, so it will be polished and prepped and the photos will be updated. This 1953 Ford Country Sedan spent it's life in Palmdale, In Southern California. recently restored interior. New custom carpet, floors are solid. Interior is a combination of genuine green leather and off white vinyl. New door panels and hardware. new front roll up and front and rear stationary quarter glass. New headliner in a matching sand highlight color. Good condition mechanically, Tuneup has been done oil pan cleaned and gasket replaced, Brakes done, 12V electric system. Only other upgrade (older 60's) are the 1069 offenhauser heads. Clean frame, rust free and straight. Recently painted Base Coat/Clearcoat Sea foam green and Ivory, as a nod to the original color scheme of cascade green and Ivory. New Molded weatherstripping on all four doors and the rear gate. Chrome bumpers are original and look good. The rest of the hardware also looks good, small piece over the bumper on the drivers side is dented. New carpet with correct molded contours installed, floors are solid. Interior is a combination of genuine green leather and off white vinyl. New door panels and hardware. new front roll up and front and rear stationary quarter glass. New headliner in a matching sand highlight color. The flat-head has recently been tuned up oil has been changed, so has the coil and plugs. Electrical system has been converted to 12v. Original radio is installed but not operational.
