Description of 1965 Ford Galaxie |
Up for sale is this beautiful 1965 Ford Galaxie 500. As you can see in the photos. the vehicle is in great condition for being 50 years old. I get stares. thumbs-ups and compliments everywhere I go with the car. I really don’t need to sell it. so please. don’t send low-ball offers. I am selling because I would like something I can drive with a little more speed and aggression. This car is much more of a cruiser. and would not do well around an autocross track. So for an accurate description. let us start with the bad: · The paint is in beautiful condition. but there are some chips here and there. which I would happily show any potential buyer. I drive my cars. so this is inevitable. · There is some surface rust on the bottom of the car. Nothing is rusted through. I just need haven’t gotten around to taking an steel brush and rust-o-leum to the affected areas. · The transmission has a small leak. which is probably from the seal. The leak is very. very slow. A drop a two or day. I was contemplating an upgrade to the engine and transmission. nbsp; so I haven’t fixed the problem. I do not let the fluid level get low and the transmission does not slip. · The air conditioning does not work. The car has the blower and condenser. but there is no compressor attached to the engine. Not sure if the components are still working. · The car was originally (according to the VIN) a 390. but the previous owner swapped in the current 289. It works great. but the 390 would obviously have more spunk. · The exhaust sounds great. but really. the glass-packs (cherry bombs) are just making a lot of noise. · The mileage on the car is unknown. The odometer has assuredly turned over. so no need to speculate. On to the good: · The reason I have not painted the car is that outside of the chips I mentioned above (as you can tell in the photos) the paints shines up great. · The car is also a factory power-steering car. so turns are taken with ease. · The car’s interior is also in great condition. Large-loop carpet is still new. only the driver’s side mat shows any type of wear. The dash is still in good condition. The clock and stock radio do not work. but there is an after-market radio installed under the dash for music. · Discs brakes are the most important upgrade for a car this age. and this car has those already installed up front. · Sitting atop the 289 is a 600 CFM Edlebrock Carburetor with Performer intake. · Recent tune-up only 400-500 miles ago. where the belts. spark plugs. wires were changed and the carburetor was cleaned. · The 15 inch American Racing Torq wheels look great. and clean up well - and the Dayton Daytona tires have plenty of thread life. I am sure I have missed something. but the important items are covered above. I have done my best to accurately describe the car - If you have any questions please email or text and I will respond as soon as possible. Please no tire kickers. or joy rides. Serious inquiries are preferred. I am listing this vehicle on multiple websites. so I reserve the right to end the auction/un-list the item at any time. I will help with shipping the item. but will not pay shipping fees. Thank you for looking. |
