This old Bird has just over 100k miles on it and is loaded with all the rare option's including the legendary 428, slide away tilt steering column, cruise control, AC, overhead console, disc brakes and power everything. I recently bought the car for the running gear and was planning on using it all in a 60s Mustang. The car is so original and complete Im having second thoughts about parting it out. I'm putting it up for this quick auction to see if someone out there has been looking for a top of the line, totally loaded Q code 428 T-Bird.The car had been parked in the Northern California high desert for several years when we acquired it recently. The pictures show the car in its original paint so as you can see the bodies nice with no rust, just sun bleached paint. We cleaned the entire fuel system, did a minor tune up and put a battery in it. The car starts right up and runs strong with no smoke, the old Autolite 4100 Carburetor will for sure need some more attention (a bit rough at idle). Transmission shifts strong and the brakes have good pedal with no bad pull or drag. The lights aren't working nor the windows, we haven't bothered with them as we weren't going to be driving it, likely just fuses. 8 track tape spins but no sound from it or radio. Wipers work. Sequential tail light motors make sound but no blinkers. Brake lights work. Gauges and speedometer seem to be working. Power seats are not working. Heater blower motor is working but the core has been bypassed. AC is all there but is non op, it will at least need a charge. Interior courtesy lights working as well as overhead warning lights. The interior is original and not great, some separation at the seams and the steering wheel center and dash has sun damage. Door panels have some cracking and separation. Glass is all good as well as the chrome and stainless. All four stock hub caps in nice shape as well as the skirts. Landau top is dried out but not cracked or torn. The tires hold air and thats about it. Paint is sun baked and bleached out with miscellaneous scratches and scrapes all over it, typical of a 50+ year old automobile. In our assessment the car is rare and likely really worth saving. Its very close to being roadworthy, with tires and some tinkering it should be back up and rolling down the freeway in no time. The car comes with a clean California title and is currently registered. The car can be easily driven onto a transport but will have to be trailered as the tires are not roadworthy. There are no stupid questions. If you require ANY additional information or photographs ofthecar don't hesitate to ask. This car is sold as is where is with no warranties expressed or implied. All shipping fees are the buyers responsibilities from our location inNorthernCalifornia 95451. We will oversee the loading when your transport arrives here. Thanks for your interest in our old 66 Thunderbird, hopefullyit'll find the good home it deserves, best of luck on the auction.
